"Well, most people in the kingdom were born with unique abilities; Father is one of them"— Addaya walked followed by Donggun who kept staring at his moving body— "he has the abilities of precognition in his dreams and communicating with spirits and other ones I can't recall now."
They kept walking until they reached a gigantic pylon gateway, across from it where four tall guards firmly stood, two on each side, holding a long khopesh sword with one hand and an oval-shaped shield that covered their bodies with the other hand. The guards moved aside immediately when they saw Addaya coming their way.
Donggun was mesmerized by the place they entered. They were walking in a great hypostyle hall; the roof supported by one hundred thirty-four pillars in sixteen rows. Every inch in that place had colorful inscriptions on it, Donggun gaped eyeing the place with an amazed yet confused look. "What is this place?"
"It's a temple... don't you have temples in your time?" Addaya asked.
"We do, but nothing like this." Donggun was amazed at how colorful and vibrant it looked. Addaya smiled as they continued walking. At the end of the long hall, there was a smaller gateway that led to a completely different place.
A massive room filled with blue lotus and huge candles all over the walls lighting it. Its walls were like the hall; covered with colorful inscriptions. In the middle of the room was a long-squared table with hundreds of papyrus es spread all over it.
A shadow of a woman squatting down behind the table, she stood up holding some papyruses. She had a willowy figure with a heart-shaped face, almond amber eyes, and a small snub nose. She had long dark curved lashes, full round red lips with a rounded cupid's bow, and long black wavy hair. She was dressed in a sheath dress with white muslin shawls over it.
"Meritamun," Addaya called her and gazed at her breathtaking beauty. Her hair was covering the left side of her face; she moved it and smiled with her deep dimples appearing on both of her cheeks. Donggun was gazing at the unique vibe of the room and didn't yet notice Meritamun.
"Is that him?" she left the papyruses on the table and walked toward them. Donggun looked at her and his heart skipped a beat. Her lips moved smoothly, and her beautiful eyes locked with his, sending shivers through his heated body.
There were stories about falling in love at first sight, stories he never believed, he didn't imagine that one day it would be him falling madly in love with a woman he never saw before.
He felt like his soul left his body and merged with her; a strong feeling took over his young heart making him feel alive for the very first time.
Mesmerized by her amber eyes. A rush of sensational feeling and a sudden desire to touch her smooth skin hovered over his heart. Addaya smacked him on the stomach after noticing him fixating on her. "Hey!" Addaya stared at him with a slight wrath.
Meritamun chuckled, leaving Donggun with another beautiful rush of adrenaline flowing through his racing heart. "Yes." His voice was hardly heard.
"Did you hear what I said?" she asked Donggun, he shook his head and clutched his fist trying to calm his shaking soul. Addaya took a deep breath and stood next to Meritamun facing Donggun who still looked flustered. "How do you feel after your time jump?" she asked Donggun and leaned on the table.
"Confused." He deliberately avoided her eyes; she walked to the other side of the room and poured a golden drink into a metal cup and gave it to Donggun. He hesitated at first then took a sip and looked at Meritamun and frowned. "what is this?"
"Tenemu; the golden drink," she said and poured two cups for herself and Addaya while he was organizing the papyruses.
"When will I meet Nebuaui?" Donggun asked and put the cup on the table.
"You're not," Addaya answered without looking at him. "my father is the first priest now; he quit guiding time travelers; Eisai was the last one."
"What do you mean he quit? Who's going to help me then?!" Donggun asked. "no... that's not right!" Addaya didn't respond and Donggun kept talking, "I did it wrong, I must have traveled to the wrong time."
Addaya didn't respond, Meritamun looked at both and then asked, "The wrong time?"
"Yes! I must have traveled to the wrong time," Donggun said and ran his fingers through his hair nervously. "he is an old man now," he said, looking at Meritamun. "you're around my age!" he said, pointing his finger at Addaya.
Addaya finally looked at him, smirking. "Who said he is an old man?"
"If he met Eisai, he must be an old man now," Donggun said and looked at both.
"Wait," Meritamun said and raised her hand. "what exactly do you know about Eisai?"
