"Father!" Addaya was taken aback when he saw him, who appeared much younger with a full beard and a head full of hair.
Donggun remained silent, his gaze fixed on Nebuaui. Addaya never let Donggun leave the astral world without hiding spell; it was the only way for him to stay in the past without Nebuaui knowing and it was the first time he ever saw him.
Hori wrapped his arm around Shuttarna's shoulder and motioned him to walk in a different direction as they began to discuss the new horse-trading deal.
Shuttarna's family were the most powerful traders in Mitanni, and Shuttarna was the only trader of horses to the pharaoh's palace. They exited the hall and entered one of the five rooms at the far end, their laughter echoing down the hall.
Kiya and Mutemwia followed Nebuaui, who couldn't stop smiling when he saw Kiya for the first time. Addaya and Donggun walked behind them, carefully listening to their conversation. Nebuaui's gaze never left Kiya's smiling face; he was talking to her mother, but his gaze kept returning to Kiya's. "He loves her," Donggun exclaimed abruptly.
"They had just met," Addaya frowned.
"It doesn't matter; I knew this look, love at first sight," Donggun said, smiling.
"Who did you love at first sight?" Addaya said, frowning more.
"The prettiest woman," he said and smiled widely then glimpsed Addaya who stared at him blank-faced "From my time," Donggun said and coughed once.
"But you said you had never been in love before." Donggun looked at him with his eyes wide open. He was shocked by how Addaya could remember minor information he said a year ago. Addaya looked at him for a few seconds then again at his father. "I don't get why we're here?" Addaya said and crossed his arms.
"Maybe the pectoral holds memories of one of them," Donggun said and pointed at Kiya and her mother. "but what is the importance of their memories?"
"I have no idea," Addaya said and looked at Kiya's smiling face. "it must be important memories to be protected in a magical pectoral," he said and looked at the strongly shiny pectoral; the place faded into darkness again.
They went through many memories over the next few minutes. They thought they were seeing Kiya's memories when the pectoral showed them several memories of Kiya and Nebuaui, specific small and detailed memories.
The next one was Kiya sitting with Nebuaui in the temple garden, laughing while Nebuaui told her some of his childhood stories.
They looked comfortable with each other, and their memories together were quick; Addaya and Donggun didn't have enough time to react. They only noticed how close and loving Kiya and Nebuaui's friendship was right away.
One memory began; it was distinct, intimate, and personal.
Addaya and Donggun stood behind Nebuaui, who was sitting on the beach with Kiya and another man, and Addaya walked over to see his face. "What?" Addaya exclaimed, surprised.
"What?" Donggun asked as he approached him.
"It's the Pharaoh!" Addaya said, pointing to the third person sitting with them. Donggun took a close look at them; they were all talking and laughing. Addaya looked around before focusing on the pectoral. "What is the significance of her memories?" Addaya muttered to himself as he checked his pectoral for an answer.
"They appear to be very close," Donggun said. Nebuaui abruptly stood up, leaving Kiya and the young pharaoh alone. The pharaoh approached her, looking deeply into her blue ocean-colored eyes and playing with her silky golden hair. He whispered some words into her ears, making her blush, and she grabbed his face between her small hands and whispered the same words to him.
Donggun stood quietly watching them, while Addaya's gaze was drawn to Nebuaui's figure, who stood distantly watching them with a heartbroken expression on his face. The pharaoh moved in closer, placed his lips above hers, and began to kiss her passionately. Donggun coughed slightly, causing Addaya to look back at them; before he could speak to what he had just seen, the room went dark again.
