The light died. Nebuaui stood alone, breathing hard. The sword disappeared into his hand; he squatted and left the white void.
The five pairs of divine eyes appeared. Anki grabbed Harut's arm and said, "Why did he kill him!?"
"Nebuaui could let no one share the powers they have; they will use that mighty knowledge to destroy their world," Harut said.
"Both are murderers and not worthy. Eisai's powers would have made him insane and greedy for more," Gabriela said.
"Nebuaui will repeat his actions as well," Harut said and looked at them. "He will kill another time traveler and destroy time and reality yet again." He looked at the rest of the divines intensely and said, "Humans are born stubborn, no matter how many chances they have, they repeat the same mistakes."
...
"Good to see you again, kid." Nabil blinked awfully slowly. "I know you do not remember me, yet we have met many times before." Nabil was still standing across from them. He lowered his gaze to their reflections on the table; absolute angels he thought.
"Who are you?" Nabil said, staring at them through their reflection. Jalila smiled at him and looked at the man beside her.
"I am the divine of death, Osir." Nabil frowned and finally looked back at him.
"The... what?" Osir smiled and walked toward him. "You are real?"
"Many humans tend to forget my existence, yet you are not any human," Osir nodded. "I wish we had the luxury of time to catch up, but the universe needs you." He looked at Jalila to continue.
"As I was telling you, it all begins with your oldest daughter" — Jalila raised her hand to stop Nabil from replying. "The divine that stole your destiny changed everything. It wasn't supposed to be like this, you were destined to have three daughters who will fulfill the vision, you were born for a reason, you are the father of the great three powerful daughters."
"That's impossible, I can't have kids," Nabil said frowning.
Osir smiled at him and said, "With all this around you, with family like yours and great powers all over you the whole time and you still believe having kids is impossible." Nabil shook his head. "It is not easy for me to admit that one of my people could rip such great destiny from you. I wish I could stop him, but I can't."
Jalila sighed, "Trust me, kid, I tried to fix it the moment Osir told me what happened, it not just any Divine, it's a powerful one who could mercilessly destroy us all."
"My people existed before humans, created to follow rules, and protect our oath. We are six divines selected to guide our people and to help and protect yours when it's needed." Osir said, grabbing a chair, sitting on it, and waving a hand for both to sit as well.
"Each one is responsible for a specific role. The one who stole your destiny was a dear friend of mine. The great Harut, he is such a curious divine, always looking for answers and he never genuinely believed our oath." A loud sigh came from Osir's mouth reflecting how sad and intense he was. "Harut and his troop were responsible for vouching destinies. Awaken great powers to special humans. When he received yours, his curiosity got the best of him" another sigh echoed slightly. "He wanted to see what it was like to have such destiny; you were gifted the power of the seeker, where you can see beyond the future."
"Beyond any reality, a seeker power is seeing the future and past of any reality of any time in this universe. Such a mighty power that shouldn't have been in his hands. As humans, we could endure such great destinies and you are one of the rare, like me," Jalila said.
Nabil swallowed his saliva and felt like sandpaper scratching his throat. He was like Jalila, the greatest woman he had ever known. Her powers are beyond this world. A respected woman with such deadly power. Having the knowledge of the future of all realities is a pure definition of disaster. He felt like his soul was snatched from his body. It was indeed rare; this power was only possessed by a few numbers of people throughout history.
"It was indeed too much for Harut to bear. He saw a vision, and it was not an accurate one. He acted out of fear and despair of your kind. He sought more power, affected by human nature such as anger, and hatred. He wants to destroy your world and for the Divines to rule both."
"What... what did he see?"
