"Bennu?"

"You unleashed something you know nothing about!" Hori shook his head, not believing Addaya's ignorance. "it's a legendary power linked to the sacred Bennu bird; it is the power of reincarnation," Hori said, eyeing the pectoral. "it was kept with the book of the dead to prevent it from ever emerging with Meritamun as the last thing Kiya wanted before she died," Hori said firmly.

"Kiya had Nebuaui cast a spell on her and Meritamun, and the spell separated the Bennu into two separate powers, one of which Meritamun has had since birth."

Addaya's mind suddenly recalled every memory of Meritamun from their childhood where he had never seen her bleed. "The other power is the Bennu soul itself; it contained Kiya's emotions and memories." Hori inhaled deeply and continued. "When you unlock the pectoral spell, the Bennu has a clear path to merge with Meritamun along with all of Kiya's memories and emotions."

Addaya wasn't blinking; despite the gentle cold breezes filling the entire house, he felt his body boiling hot. He looked at the pectoral; it was all golden. "The Bennu is legendary for one mighty reason: it reacts differently to each one it possesses; for Kiya, it made her immune to any physical harm, and the spell specifically transformed it to Meritamun to keep her safe and held the dangerous part inside the pectoral," Hori said. "I'm not sure what the Bennu brings from Meritamun's soul, but it appears to be disastrous."

Hori approached one of the walls and placed his right hand above one of the many inscriptions engraved on it. The wall faded away, revealing the halo room. "The Bennu will bring her dark side; she will destroy the kingdom and kill everyone who has caused her mother pain," Hori said, snapping his fingers.

Addaya looked around; they were in the middle of the pharaoh's palace, with half of the walls destroyed and the floor splattered with fresh blood. "It will happen in eight years; the Bennu will make her stronger than anyone in this world, she will use the book of the dead to become even stronger, and no one will be able to stop her," Hori said.

Hori walked further inside, followed by Addaya, who had his jaw dropped, as everything around them moved slowly. Many guards fighting something Addaya and Hori couldn't understand. Bright golden human figures fighting and slaughtering anyone in their path, blood gushing like a waterfall. They went to the pharaoh's chair in another room, which was empty except for a dead body on the floor.

Addaya gasped as he saw the pharaoh's body, covered in fresh blood, with a hole in his chest and a horrified look in his soulless eyes. Addaya's gaze moved slowly from the terrified dead body to the pharaoh's massive gold chair, and air escaped his trembling body as he saw who was sitting.

"Meritamun," Addaya said, sad and terrified of what would happen to her. She sat on the pharaoh's throne, clutching his heart in her right hand and the queen's crown in her left. "How...how did she turn into this monster?" Addaya murmured to himself in denial.

Meritamun appeared older and more beautiful with black kohl around her eyes, which transformed her amber innocent eyes into evil hatred ones with a triumphant smirk on her face. "She will burn the kingdom to the ground." Hori snapped his fingers, and the scene reverted to the halo room. "She has to be stopped before it's too late," he said sternly.

Addaya couldn't believe it was Meritamun he saw; the warm heart he adored would never hurt a soul. Hori followed Addaya to the nearest wall before returning to the house. Hori went to a table in one of the corners of the room filled with bottles of wine.

He poured a cup for himself when he moved to face Addaya; the white linen robe he was wearing moved and revealed his bared chest on the left side.

Addaya noticed something on his chest that appeared to be a symbol engraved on his skin; he was certain he had never seen this thing on Hori's body. Hori quickly covered himself and stated emphatically, "You must stop her."

"What do you mean?" Addaya inquired, even though he knew exactly what he meant. Addaya waited as Hori glared at him. "No... I'd never let anyone hurt her...no," Addaya panicked.

"Nebuaui insisted on their protection, and here we are! because of his selfishness, the kingdom will be destroyed, and now you want to do the same!" Hori yelled. "I will not allow anyone to destroy the kingdom!"

"I love her," Addaya declared. "Master, please! there has to be another way, and I will protect her," Addaya pleaded.

Hori slammed the cup down on the table, choking Addaya. "I will go to any length to keep this kingdom safe!" Hori screamed at Addaya, who was having the air yanked out of his body by Hori's death grip.

"We can... do anything else to prevent her... from becoming this person..." Addaya's voice was becoming trapped between Hori's firm grips.

"No, Addaya, you're going to kill her," Hori smirked as he released Addaya, who coughed hard the moment air returned to his body.
