Meritamun sat on the pharaoh's huge gold chair at the far end of the room, clutching his heart with her right hand and the queen's crown with her left. Addaya held his left hand after looking at Donggun's shocked expression. The darkness faded, and they went back. Donggun walked away after releasing his grip on Addaya's hand. "How?! how did she get to be that person?" Donggun inquired aloud.
"It is the Bennu; it has triggered this darkness within her; she has desired vengeance since the day she learned about the past, and she will use everything she has learned to destroy everyone! we must get rid of her!" Addaya said unusually loudly.
"Get rid of Meritamun?!"
"She must die," Addaya said, his face blank and his eyes darker.
"Are you listening to yourself?! You want to murder Meritamun!"
"She will slaughter everyone in her path and destroy the entire kingdom! we made that monster, and we must kill her before she become this person! " Addaya yelled.
"MURDER HER!! Have you gone mad?!" Donggun yelled back, pushing Addaya hard.
"You saw with your own eyes how this entire kingdom will be destroyed in just eight years!"
In a rage, Addaya spread his arms. "Don't you think she'll have enough power to destroy the entire world! destruction of the future, YOUR FUTURE! "
"Don't you love her?"
"Not that monster."
"She hasn't become that monster yet! We can save her!" Donggun said waiting for Addaya to respond.
"No other way but killing her, Hori should have done it years ago."
"I can't believe the words you're saying! I won't let you harm her!" Addaya looked away in frustration then back at Donggun's angry face. "What if we prevent it from happening in the first place?" Donggun said. "Nebuaui did a spell to separate the Bennu and held the soul in the pectoral."
Addaya immediately understood what Donggun meant. "The pectoral, if we take it Nebuaui couldn't cast the spell," he said.
"And Meritamun won't demolish the future," Addaya said and smirked. "give me your hand." Addaya held Donggun's left hand, and both traveled again to the past.
Eighteen years ago.
Addaya and Donggun were standing inside the courtyard, and they started to search for the pectoral in every corner of the place. "It's not here!" Addaya said angrily.
"Just keep searching," Donggun said and felt the pain start to run through his body slowly. Addaya looked out the window to see Kiya standing on the soft shiny sand of Rhakotis sea watching the sunset peacefully while rubbing her nine-month pregnant belly.
It started to get darker, and the moon took its place in the dark sky, the candles were lighting the whole place. She looked back at the house and smiled again. "I think we need rest, my baby," Kiya said to her unborn child.
Kiya walked to the building; Donggun saw Kiya heading toward them. "She is coming! hide!" Donggun said and pulled Addaya to a darker corner, he noticed something shining coming from Addaya's cloth. "what is that?" Addaya didn't answer and left him. "what are you doing?!" Donggun whispered.
"Only one way to fix this mistake." After Kiya entered the house Addaya attacked her from behind. His strong hand covered her mouth preventing air from going through her lungs, Donggun appeared next to her trying to get her free.
"No! Let her go!" Donggun shouted. The place was dark; she couldn't see their faces, yet a bright blue light coming from Addaya was visible. "stop!" Donggun said in a weaker voice. Addaya moved one of his hands quickly and got a small shiny knife tangled in his clothes. In a matter of seconds, Addaya stabbed it in her back and then into her belly.
The pectoral was pinned to her dress; Addaya took it roughly slammed it on the floor and stepped on it breaking it into pieces. Donggun fell to the ground with half of his face covered with splashes of blood coming out of his mouth and nose.
"LET HER GO!" Nebuaui appeared behind them shouting at the top of his lungs. Addaya held Donggun's left arm, and both vanished in thin air.
They went back, Addaya left Donggun and ran to the house followed by Donggun in much slower steps. Donggun entered the room and went for the fabric that he used before to stop his bleeding while Addaya was opening the cylinder of the Book of the Dead. The papyrus spread over the table and Addaya started to search for them in quick angry moves.
Donggun was watching him waiting for him to tell him what he was doing. "Got it!" Addaya shouted. Donggun didn't move, Addaya brought a wooden bowl from another room and filled it with water and then moved the papyruses away and put the bowl on the table. He grabbed the papyrus and read the spell written on it. "Donggun," Addaya waved for him to get closer.
He went to him and looked at the bowl where its clear water changed into an image; Meritamun sitting on the pharaoh's chair clenching the pharaoh's heart with her right hand and the queen's crown with her left hand, smirking victoriously.
"NO!" Addaya shouted and threw the bowl hard on the ground. "nothing changed!" Donggun bloody nose didn't stop running, he put the fabric on it again, and he felt the pain increasing with every breath he took. "It didn't work! Meritamun must die!" Addaya said and ran to the lake in the middle of the room to go across the lake to get to the mystical room.
"NO!" Donggun shouted weakly and ran after him.
