The wind hit my skin fierce as I ran down the road. My body was physically exhausted from running for so long but I couldn't stop my legs. My heart was telling me to pull up on Jay and shout at him until he went deaf but my head told me to stop being selfish. Amber was clearly going through some fucked up shit and I guess he was just trying help. I just couldn't understand why he couldn't tell me! How could he get onto me about going to the park with Mario when he was literally giving his ex weekly visits. I loved Jay to death but these secrets between us have to stop.
I paused at the end of the road to catch my breath, there was a shop on my right so I decided to go in for some water. I picked up my classic Evian bottle and headed to the counter to pay. As I reached for the cash in my pocket my phone vibrated. It was a message from Sam.
Girl where are you? Class is over..
SamI scrolled past her message and glanced over a text Jay sent me yesterday evening after he missed my call.
It read:Just doing a bit of grocery shopping for mum, will call you in a bit.
JayLiar! That bastard never did call me back yesterday. Now I know it was because he was with Amber! Grocery shopping my backfoot! The thought of him lying to me made me angry all over again.
"That will be one pound please love" the cashier said to me after scanning the bottle.
"You know what, I think I'll have something stronger" I said now eyeing up the liquor bottles behind him. I needed something to calm me down and alcohol was the only thing I could get my hands on.
I selected the Absolut Vodka bottle and to my surprise he didn't ID me. I thanked him for his service and opened the bottle and took a swig as soon as I stepped outside the shop. I didn't even care if I looked like a nitty drinking in the day time.I was about to go home but decided against it as showing up to mine with alcohol wasn't an option with my mum being home. I resulted in heading to Sam's as planned as I knew her parents were still at work. I let myself in with the spare key hidden in the flower pot outside her front door. I stumbled upstairs as the drink was starting to hit me and snuggled up in her bed and continued sipping. Every time the vodka hit my throat it felt like acid going down, but I kept drinking as it made me feel numb and forget all my feelings. I felt my eyes closing and slowly drifted.
I must of fallen asleep for a bit as I was awoken by Sam's bedroom door swinging open.
"Well fucking hell Ally you could of at least waited for me before you started necking down drinks... Oh and your bloody welcome by the way!" She said throwing my bag at me. It landed hard on my leg.
"That thing is heavy as hell, you got bricks in there or something?" She shouted.
"Ahh Sam, I'm sorry I forgot I left my bag, thanks for bringing it". I said, my words slightly slurred.
"Flipping hell you sound sloshed already, how much have you had to drink?" She asked grabbing the vodka bottle from my weak grip.
Her eyes grew wide when she saw it was already a quarter way down."All this to yourself ? Have you lost your mind? Jay said we had to be careful with our drinks tonight remember" She said shaking her head.
"Ugh! Jay says a lot of things.. including that he's shopping for his mum when really he's playing kiss chase with Amber!" I grumbled.
Sam sat down puzzled asking what I was on about, I quickly filled her in and watched as she sat there surprised.
"Amber cuts herself?" She said shocked.
Shit. I forgot she didn't know about that I thought to myself. I felt a little bad spreading Amber's secret but I had no choice if Sam was to understand the situation.
