Keralis brushed the concrete dust off of himself, looking up at his new skyscraper. It looked good - no, it looked amazing, backlit by the moon like that. Keralis frowned, realising that there was something wrong with that picture. It took him a whole minute to figure out what the problem was - the moon. It was well on in the sky, showing that Keralis, who had started working the previous sunrise, had almost been building for 24 hours straight. That probably wasn't good.

He sighed. At this point, there was no use in trying to sleep, since it would just throw off his sleep schedule. He packed up his things into a shulker box, threw the shulker box into his inventory, and began making his way over to the Cowmercial district. Maybe he'd be able to hang out with one of the early-bird hermits (or Doc, who straight-up never slept), and that would be better than wandering around, doing nothing.

Of course, when he got there, there was nobody around, except BDubs, having set up his bed by his latest shop build, who was sound asleep. As Keralis continued walking, he let out an exhausted yawn, unable to put in the effort to keep his jaw from unhinging to an inhuman degree. The noise from the yawn caused BDubs to audibly stir in his sleep; almost instantly, Keralis' mind was filled with methods for mischief. Too tired for such boring things as impulse control, he chuckled quietly, and moved to put his plan into action.

Time Skip brought to you by WHY IS COMPLETING THE SQUARE.

BDubs stirred from his sleep, a soft smile on his face. When he opened his eyes, he registered a dark blob hovering over him. He squinted, confused, until his vision cleared, revealing some kind of monster, with no facial features save for wide, dark eyes. BDubs' scream that ensued was loud enough to wake Impulse up in his base.

The monster made a strange clicking noise, and scuttled off. BDubs threw the covers off, drew his sword, and began to chase after the thing. It scuttled across the district, and BDubs followed after it, as best he could, as the entity could travel at an eerily inhuman pace. The mosnter headed straight through the shopping district portal, but when BDubs crossed through the portal after it, he found himself alone.

On top of the nether hub, Keralis, still giggling, shifted back into the disguise he usually donned, moving his jaw around experimentally. He then threw on his elytra, and took off, gliding down and around to see the look on Bubbles' face. BDubs gave a little start at the sound of Keralis' rocket, then smiled as he saw his friend come flying in.

"Hey Keralis!" BDubs greeted, smiling widely. "Have you seen any weird cryptid monster things around?"

"No, sorry, Bubbles." Keralis shook his head. "I haven't seen anything. It must have been too fast."

"Agh! The thing woke me up and it was - was - terrifying!" BDubs explained, gesturing grandly.

"I'm sorry I missed it, Bubbles." Keralis smiled, before yawning again, just about managing to hold his jaw together this time.

"You alright?" BDubs asked.

"Oh yes, I'm ok, I'm ok." Keralis assured BDubs. "Just up all night doing the building thing."

"Keralis. You need to sleep." BDubs frowned.

"I usually do!" Keralis protested. BDubs gently reached out to Keralis, putting his hands on the other man's shoulders.

"Keralis, you sound exhausted." BDubs sighed, as he subtly discorporated the sand that made up the underside of his hand, and manipulated the sleep-sand into Keralis' face. "You need to take care of yourself."

"Mmmmaybe." Keralis muttered, before falling into a peaceful sleep. BDubs barely caught him, carrying him back into the shopping district and tucking him into bed, smiling as Keralis smiled softly in his sleep.

Of course, that incident wasn't enough for either to realise that the other wasn't exactly human either. That's a story for another time.

I've been Entropy, peace out from the present!
