Shahana entered their bedroom with a plate in her hand. She saw Prachi sitting silently and staring at the wall blankly. She kept the plate aside and sat beside her.
Prachi's reverie was broken by a hand placed on her shoulder.
"Don't stay silent. If you want, tell me something or cry or do anything you want but let out your feelings. Don't bottle them up." Shahana said softly.
"I'm fine." Prachi replied simply.
"No you are not. Do you think I'm a fool? Any normal person in your shoes can never be fine. Please speak up. Don't be quiet." she urged.
Prachi nodded her head in denial refusing to speak anything .
"Okay. Don't talk to me. I will call maasi and tell her everything. You won't be able to lie to her."
"No! Don't reveal anything to maa. She is already troubled, I don't want to increase her worries."
"Then speak to me. Don't you trust or love me?"
Prachi looked into the eyes of the girl who almost fulfilled the place of her lost twin. It held compassion and pain. Unable to control it any longer, Prachi broke down.
"Why did I trust him Shahana? How could I have been so blind to the truth. I am a fool. I couldn't see his true nature. I feel as if I have failed maa's teachings." Prachi was greatly repenting over her wrong choice. She was crying furiously and blaming herself for everything.
Shahana kept Prachi's head on her lap and began caressing her head gently.
"Ssh....Don't blame yourself. Everyone makes mistakes. It's necessary that we learn from them and it was not your fault. That Aarav was so sly that anyone could have easily fallen in his trap. It's not your fault that you are good hearted and trust everyone." she tried to soothe Prachi down.

"But if I have been careful, this would have happened. All thanks to you, Ranbir and Aryan that I'm safe now. Else....."
"Don't think about that incident now, just forget it." Shahana told and began humming a lullaby which Pragya used to sing when they were sad.
The song acted like magic and Prachi calmed down. "I'm missing maa now." Prachi said.
At that precise moment, Prachi's phone began to ring. It was Pragya calling her. She got up and drank a glass of water before picking up the call.
"Hello. Where are both of you? Are you fine?" Pragya asked agitated for some reason.
"Hello maa. We are at home and absolutely fine." Prachi tried to sound as normal as she could.
"Are you sure that everything is fine?" Pragya asked again.
"Why are you asking maa?" Prachi asked apprehensive if Ranbir had told about the incident to Pragya.
"I'm having an odd feeling since morning, as if something bad has happened. My motherly instincts are not at rest. Moreover both of you were not picking up my calls." Pragya explained.
"It's nothing maa. We are fine and at home. Our phone was in silent mode, so we didn't hear it ring." Prachi said feeling guilty of lying to her mother.
"But take care of yourselves. Don't forget to lock all the doors and windows before going to sleep. Good night"
"Ok maa. Good night." Prachi said and cut the call.
"Now have your dinner. You haven't eaten anything since long." Shahana said.
"I'm not hungry." Prachi responded.
"Hawh! You are so mean. I made food for the first time and you won't eat it." Shahana said dramatically with a cute pout which made Prachi giggle.
"Ok, I'll eat, my drama queen. But you also bring your dinner and we will eat together." Prachi smiled.

"What the hell! There is nothing!" Ranbir shouted in frustration after working at his laptop for almost an hour. "How can any criminal's record be so clean? There must be something against him." he continued.
Since the time Ranbir had returned from Prachi's place, he was busy collecting proofs against Aarav so that he could be exposed, but Aarav was clever enough to cover his tracks.
"Why don't we ask Prachi to lodge a complaint against him?" Aryan suggested.
"No, that won't do. We only have our words as the proof and Aarav can easily use his money and sources to get an alibi and prove himself innocent. This will only lead to the harassment of Prachi." Ranbir reasoned.
"So what are you planning?" Aryan asked.
"I have contacted Ramesh uncle. He is an expert in this field. He will help us. Till then, we can lodge a complaint against Vicky since we have enough proof against him and since Aarav is related to Vicky, the police will put him under suspicion too and this will ensure that he remains within his limit and will try not to harm Prachi." Ranbir narrated his plan.

The next day, Shahana was surprised to see Prachi getting ready for college.
"You will go to college today?" she asked surprised.
"Yes. What's so surprising in it?" Prachi said collecting her books.
"In college Aarav......I mean.....after yesterday......"
"I have got over him. He won't be able to affect me. If I don't go today, he will think he has won, but Prachi Arora is not a coward. I'll face him. I have taken a decision to avoid boys and not to trust someone so easily in future." Prachi said determinedly.
"That's like my sister." Shahana smiled.
When they reached college, they found Ranbir and Aryan waiting for them.
"Good morning Prachi. How are you today?" Ranbir smiled and approached her as soon as he saw them.
Prachi took a step backwards unconsciously.
Ranbir was surprised but he was understanding too.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to......" Prachi began, thinking that she had hurt Ranbir.
"It's ok. I know that after yesterday's incident, it is difficult for you to trust or be near boys. I wouldn't mid if you decide to distance yourself from me." he replied.
