EPISODE 46

Aryan and Shahana were bored, so they had decided to play a game of imagining situations and their reactions to it.

"What if I propose you some day?" it was Aryan's turn to ask Shahana.

"I'll beat you up badly." Shahana replied sipping her coffee.

"What? Why?" Aryan was scared.

"Because I'm not a fool, dumbo. The day you propose me will be April Fools Day as you would want to fool me. So, I'll beat you up for trying to fool me." she explained.

"Well, I don't want to fool you." he thought.

"What if Ranbir proposes Prachi?" Shahana asked him.

"I'll be the most happiest person on earth and celebrate with them. But I don't think that is happening soon." he sighed.

"It will. I have an idea!" Shahana squealed.

"Don't include me in it. The plan made by you is bound to fail and I don't want to get beaten up by either Prachi or Ranbir."

"It's safe.........*plan muted*....... How's it?"

"I think it may work." Aryan thought the plan was brilliant. "How are we going to trick him?" 

"Rishi can help us." she answered.

"I don't think so. I mean.....he will be busy with his office work and we must not bother him with these petty issues." Aryan didn't want to involve Rishi in their plan.

"Leave that to me. I'll ensure that he agrees to help us." she boasted happily.

"You will get me killed one day." Rishi said jokingly.

"Come on, can't you do such a simple thing for your sister's happiness?" Shahana pestered.

"Ranbir spares me because he can't beat me up in front of others. He is sure to thrash me badly once we are alone." he gulped.

"He will not. Please, for Prachi........." she pleaded with her cutest possible face.

"Ok. Fine. I'll do it." he resigned.

Rishi picked up his phone and dialed Ranbir's number.

"Hello......Ranbir?" he asked when someone received the call at the other end.

"Yes" came the curt reply.

"I......I need your help." Rishi said almost in a whisper.

"For what?" 

"It's about Prachi. Meet me at XYZ park today and I'll explain the details." he said in a hurry and cut the call.

"I'll make you pay back someday." Rishi glared at Shahana.

"Prachi?.................What would he like to discuss about Prachi with me?............ Will he tell me to stay away from her?..............I swear I'll strangulate him at that place then." Ranbir's thoughts were running frenzy.

"Hey champ, what's up?" Abhi greeted him.

"Hi Chief." he greeted back but not in his usually enthusiastic voice.

"Whose the girl?" Abhi asked.

"Prachi" Ranbir muttered, not really knowing what he was speaking.

"Our Prachi?" Abhi jumped in excitement.

"Huh?" Ranbir realized that he had spilled the beans in front of Abhi. "No chief......I meant......."

"Come on. Don't lie to spoil my happiness. I know what you were lost in the thoughts of some girl." Abhi said teasingly.

"Fine chief........I admit that I like.....love her. But, don't tell it to anyone. Only Aryan knows about it." he said with a bright blush.

"I knew there was something cooking up between both of you. You have proved that you are my true student."

"What was that supposed to mean?" Ranbir could not grasp the meanings of the last line.

"As you are like me, Prachi is exactly like a duplicate copy of Rhea's mother. I fell for her simplicity and you have fallen for Prachi." he said remembering his moments with Pragya.

"Really? Can you give me tips to impress her then?" he asked hopefully.

"She doesn't want expensive gifts for herself......small gestures make her happy.......She finds happiness in others smile and loves nature.........her smile is her best adornment........." he said reminiscing about Pragya. He continued speaking as if describing her Pragya.

"Thank you chief. You always give me useful tips." he said happily and getting up to reach XYZ park.

Rishi was pacing back and forth in the park when Ranbir arrived. He looked tensed.

"Hi......Thank you for coming." Rishi tried to start a conversation.

"I had to when it's about MY friend PRACHI." he said glaring at Rishi.

"Yeah......Prachi is a good friend of yours and you know a lot about her, so I want you to help me to select a gift for her." Rishi said and moved a few inches back so that he could escape any incoming  punch or slap.

"Why do you want to buy a gift for her?" Ranbir narrowed his eyes.

"Umm......A very special occasion is round the corner. So.........." 

"What's the special occasion? Why don't I know about it? Is it her birthday? Should I buy a gift for her too?" Ranbir thought.

"Will you help me?" Rishi asked again.

"Yes. Let's go." Ranbir agreed, hoping that he might extract some more information from Rishi under the pretext of selecting a gift.

"Ooo.......So someone is stalking Ranbir......" Shahana's words made Prachi hide her phone.

She had been scrolling through instagram, or rather viewing Ranbir's profile when Shahana had appeared out of no where and scared her out of wits.

"I was not stalking him. His profile popped up, so I thought of checking it......." 

"You need to practise lying. Now tell me that since when did you actually start liking him?" Shahana asked eagerly.

Prachi began hitting her with a pillow.

"I.....told.....you......I......don't.....like.....him.....any.....more.....than.....a......friend." she shouted each word clearly and giving her a blow with every word.

"Beating me won't change the truth. If you really don't like him, accept my challenge." Shahana said counter attacking Prachi with another pillow.

"What's the challenge?" Prachi asked.

"Raksha Bandhan is coming soon. So, I dare you to tie a rakhi to Ranbir on that day." she smirked.

"Why should I tie him a rakhi?"

"If you don't want to be his girlfriend, you shouldn't have a problem to tie him a rakhi." Shahana shrugged.

Prachi was in a new dilemma now.
