EPISODE 40

Ranbir and Prachi rushed to Vikram's cabin to find a shattered Abhi crying due to unknown reasons and Purab, Vikram & Alia trying to console him.

"What happened?" Aryan asked arriving in a hurry with Shahana.

"I don't know. Dad, just asked me to come here." Ranbir replied.

"Rhea.....Rhea has met with an accident." Alia said shedding tears of a crocodile.

"Princess......My princes....." Abhi sobbed.

"We should immediately go to the hospital." Purab suggested.

"Even we want to accompany you." Prachi spoke for herself and Shahana.

"Come on then, be quick." Vikram said.

They reached the hospital in a hurry to find Rhea in the ICU and Dimpy sobbing badly.

"What happened to Rhea?" Abhi asked Dimpy.

Dimpy lifted her head and flung herself on Aryan. "Rhea.....accident.....blood loss....." she mumbled.

Vikram tried to console her. Abhi sauntered towards the glass door. He could see his beloved daughter lying lifelessly. Tears streamed down his face.

"Don't worry sir, she will get fine." Prachi placed a hand on his shoulder.

"She is my life......if anything happens to her I won't be able to survive." 

"Nothing will happen to her. Your love will save her." Prachi felt bad for Rhea even though she had always misbehaved with her.

"Doctor, how is she?" Purab asked as soon as the doctor emerged.

"By God's grace, she will recover soon. You will be able to meet her after half an hour." he informed.

Rhea regained her consciousness after half an hour. The doctor allowed the others to meet her.

"How did it happen princess? I was so worried for you." Abhi said taking her hands in his and sitting beside her.

"Dad......" Rhea began but was interrupted.

"I would like to talk with Ms. Rhea." a police officer announced entering the ward.

"Why inspector? Is there anything wrong?" Purab asked worriedly.

"Nothing serious, Mr. Khanna. As it is a case of an accident, we would like to take the statement of Ms. Rhea." he informed.

Everyone went out leaving Rhea alone with the inspector. When the inspector came out, there was a solemn expression on her face.

"I'm sorry, but Ms. Prachi will have to accompany us to the police station." 

"Why?" Vikram exclaimed.

"We have to arrest her for the attempted murder of Ms. Rhea Mehra."

Each and every person present there was shocked to the core. They couldn't believe their ears.

"I think you are making some mistake, inspector." Ranbir said.

"Yes, we know Prachi. She can't do such a thing. There must be some misunderstanding." Abhi supported.

"Rhea has accused her of planning to murder her. We have to arrest her. Constable, please arrest her."

The lady constable took a step forward towards Prachi.

"I....I swear.....I did nothing." Prachi broke down.

"My sister can't do it." Shahana protested coming in front of her.

"We will decide about that later. You have to come with us to the police station for the time being." the lady constable said pushing Shahana away and grabbing Prachi's hand.

"You can't take away her like this. She is innocent." Ranbir almost yelled. He held the other hand of Prachi preventing the constable to take Prachi with her.

"Don't interfere in our work or we may have to arrest you too Mr. Ranbir." the inspector warned.

"How can you arrest her without any proof? Rhea must have been mistaken. Prachi was with me since morning, so how can she cause Rhea's accident?" he argued.

"Wasn't Prachi late to come to the office today?" Dimpy asked.

"That's because........" Abhi started to say.

"Yes" Alia replied curtly.

"She was late because she was waiting for Rhea to emerge out of the mall so that she can push her in front of an car. I was with Rhea and I saw Prachi pushing her. At that time I was busy rescuing Rhea, so I couldn't say her anything. After causing this accident, she went to the office to arrange for an alibi." Dimpy explained.

"She is lying! We got late because of her. She was the one who engaged us in useless conversations!" Shahana screamed.

"How can we believe you girl? You are Prachi's sister and you may be lying to save her." Alia pointed.

"Please believe us......We are saying the truth." Prachi pleaded.

"I have another proof, inspector. A student from our college, Aarav was present at the spot. He can give witness too." Dimpy added.

Aarav was called and he assented to each and every point what Dimpy said. 

"Oh! Wait, I have something." he exclaimed and fished out his phone. "I was shooting our college campus, when I accidently recorded this too." he said showing them a video in his phone.

In the video, Prachi was saying that she won't spare Rhea the next time.

"There is no more point not to arrest this disgusting girl. It's clear that Prachi had deliberately pushed Rhea in death's way." Alia said requesting the inspector to arrest Prachi.

"I don't believe him. He is a liar." Ranbir couldn't believe that Prachi could do such a thing.

"Try to understand Ranbir, there is no reason why Aarav should support Rhea. They are rivals in college." Alia stated in a matter of fact way.

"We can waste no more time. Constable, bring Prachi along with us." he ordered.

The constable handcuffed Prachi and began taking her towards the police jeep.

"Prachi can not do this......Please believe us......." Shahana sobbed.

"Inspector, I have a request." Dimpy suddenly said.

"What's it, miss?" 

"Sir, I think that you should arrest Shahana too. She tried to give false evidence and she may try to threaten me and Rhea to take back the case. I'm very afraid of her." Dimpy acted to be afraid.

"I agree with Dimpy, she is a rude and short tempered girl. You have yourself witnessed how much she screamed now to scare us." Alia piped.

The inspector believed them and ordered Shahana to be arrested too. Prachi's eyes were flooding with tears while her hand still clutched Ranbir's tightly.

"I didn't do it.....Please believe me......." she kept on repeating. 

The lady constable pushed her inside the jeep and forced her to leave Ranbir's hand. Shahana was ushered into the jeep too but before that, Dimpy whispered in her ears, "This is what you get for messing with the wrong person."

The police jeep drove away with Pranbir staring at each other emotionally.
