"Which rumour?" Shahana questioned as there were usually many rumours flying around in the college.
"That Ranbir and Prachi are a official couple now." Palak explained.
"This is cent percent true and do you know how Ranbir proposed Prachi?" Shahana was too excited to narrate about it.
"Wow. Both of you sisters have got the best boys of the college." Palak was a bit envious.
"Excuse me, you might be making some mistake. I'm still single." Shahana corrected.
"You don't need to hide it from me. I'm your friend." Palak said with a mischievous smile.
"I'm not hiding anything. Who is he idiot that put this idea in your head?" Shahana was confused by Palak's deductions.
"None other than your boyfriend." Palak whistled.
"Would you enlighten me with the fact who is my boyfriend?" Shahana was planning to kill the guy who had spread rumours about her.
"Don't act Shahana, the whole college knows Aryan is your boyfriend." Palak smiled.
"Aryan. It's his last day on this earth today!" she trotted off to find Aryan.
She found him talking with him friends. He looked carefree and in a happy mood, unaware of the furious girl coming towards him.
"Aryan, I need to talk with you NOW." she shot murderous glances at him.
"Looks like we should give them some privacy." Aryan's friends told in a teasing tone and left.
"What brings you here?" Aryan asked.
"As if you don't know. Why did you lie to others?" she huffed.
"I have lied many times. Which lie are you talking about?" he questioned.
"Why did you tell everyone you are my boyfriend?" she glared.
"Oh! I didn't tell to everyone. I only lied to the teacher. I didn't know that it would spread around so rapidly." he said with a sheepish smile.
"WHAT! You told the teacher. Are you out of your mind?" Shahana was horrified at the idea.
"Remember when I showed him your notebook and he asked why your name was written on it? I lied to him that you are my girlfriend and I love you very much, so I had written your name in my notebook." he explained.
"Couldn't you come up with another lie? Why did you drag me in? Now everyone thinks I'm your girlfriend." she looked worried and angry at the same time.
"What's the problem?" he asked coolly to calm her. "Everyone thinks you to be the girlfriend of one of the most handsome guys in the college."
"Huh? You and handsome? Are you comparing yourself with the monkeys?" she rolled her eyes.
"How dare you call me a monkey!" he was offended and took a step towards her.
She prepared to run away but he pulled her towards himself.
"Wha.....What are you doing?" Shahana felt a current pass through her body.
"Do you still think I'm not handsome?" he asked.
"No....Not at all." she was adamant.
"Then why are you shuttering?" he pointed.
She was about to answer when a loud exclamation by someone nearby drew their attention. Shahana got an opportunity to wriggle out of his grip and run away.
"What just happened?" the question occupied her mind.

"Stop staring at me and do your work." Prachi chided Ranbir who was staring at her continuously.
Prachi had come to the library to study while Ranbir had followed her. The librarian got her share of surprise when she saw Ranbir in the library. He was the last student she expected to see there.
"I get it. I'll do my work." he agreed.
Prachi sensed some mischief as he agreed easily. Her doubts where confirmed when he clasped her hand under the table making her gasp lightly.
"What are you doing? Leave my hand." she tried to free her hand.
"You told me to do my work and the most important work I have is to romance with my girlfriend."
"Leave my hand. Someone might see us." she said.
"What will happen if they see us? At the most they will tease us as everyone over here knows that we are a couple." he stated.
"How do you know?" she questioned.
"Let me prove it to you." he looked around the library and found a student near them. He looked like a new admission. "Hi. I'm Ranbir. Do you know who she is?" he asked.
"Who doesn't know. She is Prachi and both of you the best couple of the college." the boy said to which Ranbir gave a victorious smile to Prachi.
"Stop embarrassing me in front of others." Prachi scolded.
"So, I'm an embarrassment to you?" Ranbir made a sad face.
"I didn't mean that." Prachi said
"No. You don't need to explain. I'm actually worthless for you." he said making a cry baby face.
"Do you want us to have ice-cream together after office today?" she proposed to stop him from whining.
"Really?" he exclaimed with a childish excitement.
"Yes. I have never seen a boy who does such drama." she shook her head fondly.
"Anything to spend some more quality time with you." Ranbir bowed down making Prachi smile at his antics.

"Did you get the information I asked for?" Alia asked someone over the phone.
"Yes ma'am. I did a background search on them. Prachi has only her mother. Her parents are separated. Her mother helps Sarita ji in her catering. Shahana is an orphan. No information was found about her parents. They live at Sarita ji's house with her grandson. I have forwarded their picture to you." the person informed.
"Well done. I have made the payment." Alia cut the call and checked the picture sent by the person.
She was shocked beyond measure when she saw the picture.
