Cody smacked his palm against the floor and cursed, "Sonofabitch, while we were here arguing I forgot about the urgency of finding those two kids!"
Cody pushes himself up and turned to Blaze, "Help if you want but if you don't I can't promise anything will help you anymore. "
Blaze and Jinxx watch as Cody dashes out of the door and to the left, to the entrance. Jinxx grabbed onto Blaze's hand to yank him along, his strength was greater and he pulled her against him. Her back against his chest, his arms around his waist. Blaze dipped his head down to Jinxx's shoulder. His lips brushed against her skin as he spoke, "I'm sorry, baby."
Jinxx rolled her eyes and grinned, "It's alright. I wasn't mad."
Blaze smiled and lifted his head and allowed his lips to meet hers. They stood there for a few moments, lips locked in a kiss. Jinxx's hands traveled up Blaze's arms and up to his neck. Blaze's hands traveled down Jinxx's sides to rest on her hips.
A car door slamming and the engine catching broke the moment. The pair pulled back, eyes catching each other. Blaze smiles, "Shall we?"
Blaze led Jinxx out of the apartment and to the black Impala. He opened the passenger side for Jinxx before climbing into the driver side. As they drove, Blaze's hand stayed attached to Jinxx's. Their eyes focused on the road ahead. They drove on the asphalt that cut through the sparse trees. The trees passed in a blur of brown and green.
As the car was close to exiting the trees, a blur of gray and white caught Blaze's eyes. He pulled the car to a stop with a screech and stepped out. Clearing his throat, "Tommy! Penny! Get your butts back to the pack!"
Jinxx peered out the open door, two howls echoed not too far off. Blaze growled at the response, "I mean it, you trouble makers! I will not be kind if I have to leave my girl here to come get you!"
One pair of gray eyes peered from behind a tree. The gray wolf stepped out and peered around Blaze's body. Blaze's lips curled, "Penny, where's your troublemaker brother?"
The gray wolf's gray eyes glanced up at Blaze before barking out a reply. Blaze reached out to pet Penny's head. Penny didn't cower or back away, she leaped forward. Her front paws on the seat of the Impala, eyes gazing right at Jinxx.
Blaze reached for her scruff to pull her back, "Get your brother and get hom-"
Blaze was cut off and Jinxx nearly banged her head as a body thumped against the outside of Jinxx's door.
