"HE'S HERE!!"

Tor and Star look at each other, eyes wide. Caspian's body spasms and jerks violently. Star tries to push the boy's shoulders so that he is lying down but his body jerks more rapidly, his hand smacks into Star's side. She looses her balance and falls against Tor. Tor catches her and lifts her up. Star smiles sheepishly, "Thank you, Tor."

A phone rings.

Star reaches for her phone, presses the button. The deep voice immediately starts to talk, "You are running out of time. You are so predictable, Tor. Stop caring so much, Star. It's about time we've all joined forces."

Star's eyes harden in disgust, "Zel, we were your friends. You can't put us against each othe-"

Gazelle's voice cuts her off, "Oh lovely Star, that's where you are wrong. You have pitted yourselves against each other long before I came into play. Caspian is dying. Tor is losing his battle. And you,  Star, are losing your kidness."

Star looked at Tor, his eyes not meeting hers. He knows what Zel, is talking about and chose not to tell Star or Jinxx. He was dying. After so many years of fighting, the tide had finally turned.

Tor's hand shot out and snatched the phone from Star, "Zel. Shut up about us. You have only been in our group for a short whil-"

Zel laughed out, "Tor. I have known about your friends for a long while. I know their daily schedule by heart...or I used too. Jinxx has been hanging out with a wolf for the past weeks. It's new but it broke me."

Tor hissed, "Jinxx hangs with whoever she wants. That's up to her not you."

Zel chuckled, "It may not be up to me but it does affect me. I've been there for her."

Caspian's scream broke through the short silence and Zel spoke again, "Sounds like you are losing him, Tor. He's poisoned, you know. Won't last long. "

Caspian's breathing grew heavier, a layer of sweat covered the boy's body. Star wiped the sweat from the boy's face but it didn't help much.

Zel's voice taunted them, "It was one of my main orders of that sleazebag. He didn't follow them all. Nothing I could help. Your vampire side is defeating you, isn't it? How long do you think you have, Tor? A week? A month? Years?"

Star's eyebrows knitted in confusion. Zel's next words cut through the silence.
