Jinxx looked around the mansion's entrance hall, racks upon racks of shoes lined the wall. Blaze pulled Jinxx through the hall and past a few rooms. Each room was occupied with a couple of teen wolves, except for the last room. The last room was the kitchen. Cody was in the kitchen, tapping at his phone.
Blaze glances around for a second before settling on Cody, "Where's the troublemakers?"
Cody shrugs, not looking up. "Probably ran off to have fun again."
Jinxx tugs on Blaze's hand, "What was he talking about?"
Cody's head shots up, his eyes locking on Jinxx. His eyes narrow, "She's a vampire. They might attack her if you leave her alone."
Blaze grins, "I'd like to see them try. They won't last long."
Jinxx's own lips pull up into a grin, she leans into Blaze. Cody frowns slightly, going back to his phone, "Whatever."
Blaze reaches over and snatches his phone, grinning. Cody glares, "What the hell, Blaze?"
Blaze chuckles, looking at the screen. There's a game pulled up, the character runs into a wall. A song plays as the screen goes black, words play across the screen. GAME OVER!
Jinxx glances at the screen, Blaze tosses it back to Cody. Cody glares, catching the device, "Son of a bitch, I was just past the high score."
A teen sticks his head in, eyes darting between the three. His voice breaks as he speaks, "Alpha, the others are getting antsy."
Blaze glances at Cody, "Get them ready for a gathering."
Cody glares but nods. The teen boy disappears back to one of the other game rooms. Blaze pulls Jinxx into a bedroom.
The room is covered in the smoke and pine scent of Blaze. The room is bathed in the color black; from the curtains to the comforter on the bed and the rug on the floor between the bed and dresser. Blaze tugs Jinxx over to the loveseat next to the window. He sits and pulls her down next to him, holding her close.
Minutes pass, Jinxx leans into Blaze as he grins. He lifts her chin with a finger, pressing his lips to hers. Only small pecks at first, turns into a make out session. Blaze pulls back a little, allowing his forehead to remain in contact with Jinxx's. His breathes fans across her lips.
Jinxx tangles her fingers in his hair, pulling his lips back to hers. Blaze's hand moves to cup her hip, his fingers slipping under the hem of her shirt. Her fingers tugged on his hair, as he pulled her close. His warm hands on her sides. The pair move around as they kiss, Jinxx ends up with her back pressed to the cushion and Blaze above her, making out.
The door bursts open and a familiar voice shouts in surprise, "For fucks sake can't you lock the door!"
Cody has his hand over his eyes, his cheeks blazing. Blaze slowly pulls himself away from the girl of his dreams, his mate. Jinxx pushes herself up, blushing. Blaze tugs her close, his eyes on Cody, "Don't you think you should knock? Instead of barging into my room like that?"
Cody pulls his hand down, his gaze not meeting Blaze's. Blaze chuckles and kisses Jinxx's head. Cody frowns, "I was linking you, you son of a bitch. Next time answer. They are ready. "
Cody stomps out of the room, leaving Blaze and Jinxx to look at each other. Amusement dances in Blaze's eyes. He pulls her after Cody, to the gathering.
Many voices echo from outside, all talking at once. Blaze pulls Jinxx to a door, he turns to her and smiles. He reaches out and cups her cheek, "You'll do fine. Just be you."
Cody peeks in from the door, the chatter grows increasingly loud. He steps in and glances at Jinxx. Blaze glances at his brother, his Beta. Blaze holds the door open, his eyes meeting Jinxx's before he steps out. Cheers erupt as the chatter dies down, Blaze's voice can be heard through the door, "I've called this gathering today to introduce someone very important to us all. It's not the Goddess, as the kids may think." A few giggles come from the kids. "I want to introduce someone. She is different from us, she isn't a wolf. But she happily puts up with your Alpha's bad side and crap. I'd like to introduce you to my mate, Jinxx."
Cody glances at me and then to the door. He mouthes, "Go!"
Jinxx opens the door and steps out, onto the makeshift stage. Cheers erupt from the wolves, their faces range from young to old. Then they catch the scent of vampire, a few of the faces tense up and growl in confusion. One girl threatens to leap as Jinxx makes her way over to Blaze. He wraps his arm around her, "Jinxx is a vampire and my mate. Anyone who threatens her will be disciplined in any way see fit."
Murmurs run through the crowd. A young auburn haired girl steps to the front, her eyes set on Jinxx. Her small mouth opens as she speaks, "Your friends need you."
Jinxx glances at Blaze before looking back to the girl.
She's gone.
Jinxx glances around, searching for the girl. No blur of auburn, not a single sign of the girl.
The girl's words sink in. Your friends need you.
What was wrong with Star? Tor? Caspian?
She needed to get to them but she would have to get through this first. Blaze grasped her hand before slipping something cold onto her ring finger.
