The man standing in front of the badass Jinxx was none other than Josiah Tucker.
One of her former mundane friends.
But mundies don't live 253 years, it's just a look alike. A very clear look alike.
His voice broke through, "You knew my grandfather. You were his friend. Then you abandoned him, bloodsucker."
Jinxx rolled her eyes and ventured off, the boy right on her heels.
His vocal cords were tiring but not quick enough to her liking, "Josiah Tucker, he died happy but you should at least tried to make it. He talked about you often to my father."
Jinxx hissed at the boy, "Josiah betrayed me in return I only abandoned his friendship. Sure I may have killed him if I had stuck around. But you, mundies, don't get that."
"You forsaken diseased ridden bloodsucker!!"
"Boy..."
"Shut up!! My grandfather always held you to the light, you abandoned him. That's your fault not his. He maybe thought he was helping you, you turned him away. You killed him, not old age. " the boy went on in his rant.
I took a moment letting him get distracted before shoving him down, I raced to the tavern. After stepping in I reach for my bandana. Only to realize it's gone, I swear.
"In need of a drink, Miss?" The old bartender glances in my direction.
It's only 10am, but that boy got on my nerves really quick. "Please. A margarita on ice."
"Coming right up, " he sets to work on my drink.
The door chimes, I rest my head on the counter and reach into my pocket for my blue contacts and slip them in to conceal the vampire mark of my eyes. The chair to my right slides out a pair of hiking boots and blue jeans come into view. Then THE voice, "Hey Ty, I'll have a scotch. Maybe some whiskey too."
The old man laughs shortly followed by the man next to me. A clink draws my interest, I sit up and grab my margarita and take a sip, letting it flow through me.
I feel a gaze on me, I flick my gaze to the young male and lock eyes with a pair of chocolate brown eyes. I flick my gaze to my drink, I chug it. Recklessly.
The man laughs and leans back against his chair back. Two more young males join the first. The younger one with green eyes and brown hair speaks to the first man, "Hey Blaze, Tommy and Penny are acting up again but we have Josh watching them. We also..."
The boy trails off and follows Blaze's gaze to me, he shots me a smile, "Hey Miss, do you mind if I take him for a moment?"
I shake my head, Blaze follows the two young males away. I place my money on the counter for my drink and leave. On my way out, a young boy and girl run infront of me. An older male runs after them, "Tommy! Penny!"
I smile and head to the park. The man, Blaze, is in my head. I can't get him out so I walk around the park. My throat constricts and I sigh in frustration.
Thirsty.
Again.
A shriek sounds through the park, I turn and see a 7 year old boy dressed in rags and shaggy blonde hair in his eyes. I zip over to him and pick him up, I return the purse to the woman and carry the boy as he struggles, "Lemme go! Please! I won't do it again!"
I sigh, "You are gonna come live with me. I'll make sure you don't have to steal anymore."
The boy stops squirming, I set him down and we walk hand-in-hand. After a while gets tired and starts dozing off, I pick him up and carry him to my home.
I lay him down and lift his thin arm, pressing my fangs into his wrist and taking a few gulps. I pull away and lick my lips.
Then I realize...
