🌿Ivy🌿
Nightwing lands and I scan the surrounding area, searching for any sign of her. "Heather?"
"I'm here." I turn and see her coming out of the undergrowth. I hop off and rush over to her, enveloping her into a hug. "I was worried about you." She returns the embrace and rubs my back.
"Sorry, I couldn't risk Ryker or Dagur discovering our little rendezvous. Had to space them out." I pull back and look into her face which is almost a mirror of my own. "I know. It's just…"
"You hate lying to Hiccup?"
"Yeah. I mean it's been so long since I've seen him and when we first met I wasn't exactly forthright. He's been so unbelievably kind and understanding."
"Trust me, I know. We've talked about this, Ivy. If you tell Hiccup or the other riders—"
"I know, but all this sneaking around is making me a little paranoid. Not to mention what could happen to you if you're discovered."
"If we keep playing it safe I'll be fine."
"Alright, Heather. What do you want to talk about?" We settle down on the ground as our dragons have their own conversation. I listen to her whole story about Ryker planning on going after the Snow Wraith. "Okay, I'll figure out a way to get us there. Don't worry."
We stand up and Heather gives me a smile. "Thanks, Ivy. For everything." I nod and return her smile. Heather and I have been meeting up for awhile now. At first it was just to hang out and exchange stories, but it soon turned into heads ups about the Dragon Hunters.
"Don't mention it. Happy to help. How's… how's Dagur?"
"Still as deranged as ever." I stare down sadly at my boots. "He talks about you a lot though. Before even talking to you I felt like I already knew you."
"All good things I hope?"
"He thinks very highly of you. As only a brother can." I lift my head up and allow a smile to grace my face. Happy to know that my old brother isn't completely gone. "Thanks, Heather. I'll see you soon. But be careful."
"You too, sis." She pulls me into a hug and my smile grows as I wrap my arms around her. "I always wanted a sister," I whisper to her and she chuckles lightly. "Me too." We pull away from each other, calling our dragons back to our sides.
"Once you reach Glacier Island come find me for an update."
"Will do. Goodbye, sister."
"Bye, Ivy," she calls flying off on Windshear and I get on Nightwing. "Let's go, girl." She coos and takes flight heading back to the Edge. I land at the stables after spotting the other Riders from the air. "Ivy! You're back from Berk already?"
"Never made it there," I tell him and try to ignore the guilt eating away at me for lying to him. Again. "I ran into Trader Johann along the way, and he had some interesting news. Hiccup, we need to talk." We take this discussion to the clubhouse and I lean against the table that also has a place to light a fire.
"Johann flagged me down on the way to Berk to tell me that he'd seen Ryker, Heather, and the Dragon Hunters in the Northern Markets buying all the cold weather gear they could get their hands on," I tell them.
"Why would you buy winter gear in the summer?" Snotlout asks from where he's standing beside the twins who turn to look at him. "Hello. That's when you get the best prices."
"Ruff is an excellent shopper."
"Uh-huh."
"She actually got both our outfits, two for the price of one."
