♠️Hiccup♠️
I stand looking at our new home. We were finally finished. I smile and get on Toothless before flying to my hut. "Hiccup!" I look up and see Astrid flying towards me. I sigh before calling out.
"Yes, Astrid?" I ask landing outside my hut. "Well, you've been. . . .sad ever since Ivy returned to her island three years ago. Don't you think it's time that you. . .moved on?"
"Astrid, I'm fine." Suddenly a load roar fills the air. "What was that?"
"I have no idea." I say looking around. "Wait it sounds familiar." That's when a black blur flies over us and lands in the middle of Dragon's Edge. "Let's go, Astrid." Toothless crouches down before launching into the sky.
We quickly land and I see the other Dragon Riders surrounding the stranger. Their dragons were giving warning growls. The rider stays on his dragon, a heavily armored dragon, you could barley see it's skin.
"Who are you?" Ruffnut asks and I hear a low giggle. I freeze looking up at the dragon rider. I push through my friends, ignoring their protests. "Guys, don't you know who this is?" I ask gesturing to the rider.
Who jumps off and slowly pulls the helmet off. Letting her long black hair fall out. She looks at me with a dazzling smile. "Miss me?" I pull her against me in a tight hug, tears pricking my eyes, but I keep them at bay.
"You have no idea." I say answering her question. She returns the hug, I feel her run her hands through my hair. "I missed you, Hiccup. So much." I nod against her shoulder, afraid my voice would falter if I tried to speak.
I pull away reluctantly as the others start speaking excitedly. Fishlegs runs forward giving her a hug, then the twins. Ivy turns to Astrid, about to hug, but lets her arms fall to her sides. Astrid smiles before suddenly enveloping her in a hug.
She looks startled before smiling happily and hugging her back. They pull away from each other and I take the time to look over Ivy. She has changed a lot in these past three years. Her hair had grown just past her shoulders, the sun making it shimmer like obsidian.
Her green eyes sparkle like emeralds but they look tired and almost haunted. There's a scar on her right cheek. Snotlout walks over to her and gives her a smile. "Oh, Ivy as beautiful as ever." Ivy gave him a disgusted look, I'm just about to interfere when she grabs Snotlout's arm and bends it at an akward angle and I hear a crack.
"And there goes your arm." Then she pushes him away and he falls to the ground. Astrid smiles and high fives her. I give a light smile, this is not the young girl I found bleeding to death three years ago.
She's. . .stronger, more confident. She's not the young girl who needs me to help protect her. I'm. . .proud? I'm suddenly pushed gently aside by my dragon as he ran to Nightwing.
"By the way, Ivy what's with the armor?" Astrid asks her, gesturing to her dragon. "Oh, my islands been at war for the last two years." My eyes widen in surprise.
"What?" Is that why her eyes seem different? "Um, yeah, and I couldn't risk losing, Nightwing, so I had our blacksmith make Nightwing some armor. Once the peace treaty was signed and it was safe I went straight to Berk to find you."
She said looking at me before smiling. "All of you. But Stoick said that you had traveled far away to search for new dragons. I feared I would never find you, until I saw your post from above. I recognized some of your designs, Hiccup."
I smile and watch Toothless and Nightwing start to play. Astrid starts up a conversation with Ivy. I watch them talk and smile. I feel someone nudge me, I look over and see Fishlegs.
"What're you waiting for, aren't you going to show her Dragon's Edge?" I stare at him and he sighs. "You deserve some time alone with Ivy, you haven't seen her in three years." I nod I really want to be alone with her.
I walk up to Ivy and she turns to me with a smile. "Ivy, I'd like to welcome you to Dragon's Edge. I'd also like to show you around." Ivy's smile widens and I feel something in me start to break down.
I can't quite put my finger on it and I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. "Sure, I'd love that Hiccup. But is there any place I can drop off Nightwing's armor. She can't fly under it's weight for long."
I nod getting on Toothless and flying into the sky, Nightwing follows with Ivy. I land at the armory and help take the armor off Nightwing. Once every last piece of metal's off her she shook out her wings and grumbles in satisfaction.
"Does that feel better, girl?" Nightwing grumbles again and rubs her head against her thigh. "Hiccup, I'm. . .really tired can we just take the tour later?" She says, looking even more tired than when I first saw her.
I nod, "of course, I understand. You can come back to my hut, I have an extra bedroom." Ivy nods, looking like she's sleeping on her feet. I sigh and nudge her playfully.
"Why don't you ride with me, you'll probably fall off Nightwing." She laughs before a yawn interrupts her. She nods and gets on behind me. I rub Toothless' head.
He gently flies into the sky and Nightwing follows us. Ivy rests her head against my back, I feel her breathing slow, she's asleep before we even get to my home. I gently slip off Toothless, careful not to disturb her.
I pull her into my arms as she unconsciously wraps her arms around my neck. I take her inside and lay her down on the guest bed. I stand up and watch as she curls up, sighing contentedly. I smile, before taking off some of her armor.
I watch her sleep for a moment before heading to my bedroom. I change into something more comfortable before slipping into bed. Toothless burns his usual place in his bed before curling up and going to sleep. "Goodnight, Bud." I say before going to sleep myself.
