Chpater 12: Good News and Bad News

*KATNISS POV*
"Katniss!" I hear a voice call after me just as i reach for the door.
"Peeta?" I say back. I see Peeta on his hospital bed with his eyes open and his bright ocean blue eyes looking at me. I run up to him and hug him tight but not too tight or else i'll harm him.

"Oh my gosh Peeta, You're awake! I love you so much! Im so sorry for all of this, if i had just stay-" He interupts me with a kiss. Oh how i've missed his lips against mine so bad. As he kisses me, Sparks flow through all my body and my whole body completly shuts down. He moves his lips away from mine.

"Katniss this isn't your fault, and please dont say that there's no other reason for living.Even if i die, i don't want you to think those thoughts." Fuck. I forgot he could listen to me over his coma.
"Oh Peeta i love you."
"I love you too Katniss." He gives me a quick but enjoyful kiss. He tries to sit up but fails to.

"Ugh why can't i feel my leg?" I think i should tell him what happened to his leg.

"Well thats some bad news i have to tell you. After you got rushed in the emergency room, the doctor told us that your leg was seriously damaged and that it had to be amputated. We also had a choice, you could either be in a wheelchair the rest of your life, or you could have a prosthetic leg, so we chose the prosthetic leg. So thats why you cant feel your leg." He looks at his leg from under the covers. He stares at it for a few minutes then looks at me.

"So im half robot now?" he smiles.
"Well kinda yeah." i laugh.
"Well at least the good news is that you are awake now, which reminds me, i have to call a doctor." I call for a doctor out in the hallway. A doctor comes in and checks Peeta. After what seems like forever the doctor says that Peeta will be fine but will stay in the hospital for a few weeks. After that Finnick, Annie and the rest of the group go in to see Peeta. They all cry and hug him like i did. After they all hug him, my stomach growls so loud that everyone in the room turns around to see me.

"Wow brainless. Im guessing that you're humgry huh?" Says Johanna.
"Yeah i kinda didn't eat anything all day, hey is it okay if i go to the cafeteria and get something to eat?"
"Of course Katniss. We will be here with Peeta." says Annie.She is such a nice person. I walk out the door and into the hospital cafeteria. As i walk there i bump into a girl. The girl looks at me and grabs me by the neck. As soon as i look into her eyes i notice that its Delly Cartwright. The girl that ruined my life. The girl who I thought Peeta loved. The girl who is strangling me right now.

"DELLY, LET..... ME....... GO!" I shout trying to speak.
"I swear if you even you touch my Peeta, I will hurt you and Peeta. HES MINE, NOT YOURS! Who would even want to date a girl like you, You are WORTHLESS. Now stay away from him!" She says. She throws me against the wall when no one is looking and runs away. My head starts hurting like hell but i manage to get up. i touch the back of my head and feel blood drip down my head. I run to the hospital bathroom and look at myself in the mirror. I have a bruise on my forehead and the back of my head is bleeding. I grab a paper towel and carefully wipe the bloods away. After i throw the paper towel in the trash i just look at my reflection in the mirror. God, i AM worthless. Why would i ever think that that a hot and dreamy guy like Peeta would go for a ugly and dorky girl like me. I sigh and walk out the bathroom and into Peeta's hospital room.

"Oh hey Kat-OMG KATNISS WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU!" Annie says as she runs up to me. Everyone then runs up to me and i just sit down on one of the chairs next to Peeta's bed

"Nothing i just fell." i sigh.
"NO KATNISS! This would not happen by just falling!" Clove says pointing to my bruise on my head.
"Tell us the truth." says Johanna. I look over to Peeta. He has a worried look on his face. He then touches the back of my head where i was bleeding and looks back at me.

"Katniss what happened?" He says with a worried look on his face.
"I just bumped into someone and it wasn't a great ecounter okay?" i say annoyed.
"Who was it Katniss?" He says and looks at me with his bright blue eyes.
"Fine it was Delly but it doesn't matter. I get used to the bullying now."
"KATNISS IT DOES MATTER. Delly has no idea who she is messing with. I swear when we get back i will fucking hurt her." i thought of what Delly said and how she thretened me.
"NO ITS ONLY GOING TO MAKE IT WORSE, SHE TOLD ME IF I EVER EVEN LAYED A FINGER ON YOU, SHE WOULD HURT THE BOTH OF US. I LOVE YOU TOO MUCH PEETA AND I CANT LET THAT HAPPEN." I say back. I run out of the room and into the hospital waiting room my tears in my eyes.
