Chapter 29: Missing

*Peeta POV*

I put my phone to my ear. I've tried calling Katniss 3 times now but she isn't answering. I start to get a bit worried. What if she forgot to meet up at my house? What if something happened to her?

I pace around my room back and forth hoping for Katniss to pick up her phone. Why is she not answering?

"Sorry the person you are trying to reach is not avai-" I turn off my phone and put my face in my hands. Maybe something happened to her. I grab my car keys and head over to Katniss' house.

I open the door to her house and see that there's glass shattered all over the floor. I also see Katniss's phone there too with a note taped to the side.

We got your girl and if you ever want to see her live bring $100,000 dollars cash to this address on Friday at 12:00 am. Don't be early or late lover boy. If you come early we will kill her. We will be waiting. On the side it had an address that I didn't recognize.

My mouth was wide open and tears shed down my eyes. I couldn't believe what I read. Katniss had been kidnapped and she could be in serious pain or torture. I whince at the idea. Today was Tuesday and the note said to be there on Friday with $100,000. Where would I get the money from?I need to call someone.

I grab my phone and click on the first contact I can think of. Finnick.

"Wait bro calm down, so you're saying that Katniss got kidnapped?"
"Yes! That's all I've been saying Finnick for the last minute and I don't know what to do and with the note too! She could be in serious pain and trouble right now and oh I just hope she's okay!!" I yell. I run my hands through my messy hair. I bite my lip and let out a sob. "Finnick what if she dies, what if I don't bring the money and they kill her. It would be all my fault...God if only I had been there earlier I could've stopped it." I choke on a sob.

"Peeta that will not happen and it is most certainly not your fault. None of us knew this was going to happen so don't blame yourself." I swallow a bit. "I know you're right." We stay quiet for a minute until finally Finnick speaks up.

"Look I got an idea, but we might need some helpers. I have a plan that might actually work and get Katniss back. Its operation Get Kitty Back."
