Chpater 14: The Date

*KATNISS POV*
Its 5:30. I only have 30 minutes until Peeta comes and pick me up and I still cant find anything to wear. UGH!! I have worn every outfit in my closet and everything seems old. I want to impress Peeta with my outfit not disgust him. Prim must have heard my complaining because she enters my room.

"You clearly need help to choose what you are going to wear."
"Yeah everything seems so boring and old and i only have 30 minutes to get ready."
"Well its a good thing that mom and I got you a dress before we came." she runs out of the room and comes back with a dress. The dress is blue and has lace all over it, it also has a black belt attached to the waistline. Its short and it seems like it might end up above my knees. (picture in description) Its so beautiful. i run up to Prim and hug her.

"OMG thank you SOOOOOO MUCH, its so beautiful and i love it! I love you little duck"
"Katniss ive already told you not to call me that anymore, and go try on the dress." i go to the bathroom and try on the dress. It fits me perfectly. I apply light makeup on and grab some black slip on shoes and head out the door. Its 6:00 and Peeta is already outside in his car waiting for me. I open the door to his car and sit in the front seat.

"Hey babe." he says and gives me a quick peck on the lips.
"Where are we going?"
"Its a suprise." Oh Peeta. He starts driving and goes to a familiar path that i have gone through. I finally notice where we are. We are at the meadow we used to play in when we were kids.

"Peeta, you still remember this place? I thought only i remembered."
"You really would think i would forget the place where i would play with the most beautiful girl in the world." i blush. Hes such a cutie. We get out of the car and Peeta gets a picnic basket and a blanket from the trunk. We walk into the hill filled with flowers we used to roll in. Peeta lays down the blanket and we both sit down.

"So whats on the menu today chef?" Peeta smiles.
"Well our special today is lamb stew and for desert we have cheesebuns and muffins." i giggle. Peeta still remembers my favorite foods. I cant even remember what i ate this morning. We eat our dinner and talk about the most random stuff.

"And thats how i arm wrestled a bear with my foot." says Peeta. i swear he's the funniest guy i have ever met. We see the sun go down and we lay down.

"Thats my favorite color, not too dark and not too crazy like Mrs. Trinket's hair." he says as he points to the orange color of the sunset. I laugh and turn my head to Peeta. He looks at me back and his ocean blue eyes stare into mine.

"You know Katniss we never officially became a couple. So would you do me the honors of being my girlfriend?" I look into his deep blue eyes.
"Yes Peeta, I would love to be your girlfriend." He smiles and kisses me. I close my eyes and fireworks go through my body. His warmth embraces me and makes me feel safe. He slowly pushes his hand up my shirt but i push it away. I know where this is going to and im too young for it. Well even maybe i did do it one time but it was just ONE TIME and i didn't know what i was doing. I pull away and Peeta looks at me.

"Its okay, i understand." He says
"Thank you." I lay back down onto Peeta's chest and i can hear his heartbeat. He cuddles up with me and kisses my forehead as we watch the sun go down.

"Stay with me Peeta."
"Always."
