TODAY WAS A DAY OFF FOR ALL THE CAST AND CREW. ONCE TWELVE pm rolled around, maeve found herself entering the famous restaurant to meet her friend, paul wesley
"well well well, look what the cat dragged in" maeve spoke up as soon as she spotted paul
"maeve" paul smiled as his eyes fell on the brunette, the two greeting each other in a hug
"so what brings you to los angeles?" she asked him once the two were seated
"came to hand some business for the weekend before going back to nashville to continue filming season two of tell me a story" he explains as she nods in understanding
"gotcha, how's the married life?" she grinned, seeing as paul tied the knot with his wife ines
"pretty fantastic" he matched her grin "you know, i always thought you and dean would get married" he stated as he watched her smile fall slightly
"same here" she said sadly, before shaking off her sad mood "but guess what" she said
paul's eyebrows perked up "what?" he asked curiously
"i'm working on my first album" maeve grinned
"holy shit" he said with a proud smile "w-wait is this a breakup album?" he asked
a smile tugged on her lips "hey, the only bright side about having your heartbroken is the songs that come to you" she pointed out
"you got a snippet of a song?" he asked
"of course i do pauley" she grinned as he rolled his eyes at the nickname
she pulled out her phone, as she unlocked it she went to her recordings. just three nights ago, she had written it. she handed him one of her airpods
"i'm not used to being with somebody with their shit together saying sorry actually makes it better i did things to you i said i'd never i miss waiting for you in the lobby of your old apartment drawing shapes with you into the carpet back before the end had even started"
"now that you're gone it's my fault i'm so lost i'm sorry, i'm sorry, i'm sorry"
"smoking cheap pre-rolls and listening to lany hoping you don't hate me i know it's lame, but this is how i'm coping without inside jokes and places that you'd take me bet you probably blame me i know it's lame, but this is how i'm coping without you"
"i'm the best at getting disappointed by my expectations try to read my mind, it's always racing damn, i really love to test your patience"
once maeve paused the song she looked up at paul who was starring back at her "so what do you think?" she asked with a hopeful look
paul starred at the girl for a few seconds before speaking up "you started smoking?" he questions
"paul—
he cut her off "you were a doctor for god sake, you of all people should know how bad smoking is!" he scolded her "i've told you my story and how hard it can be to quit" he continued. maeve sighs as she covers her face with her hands "you need to stop smoking, promise me you'll stop!" he said with a hopeful look
she glanced up at him and took notice of his stressed look "i promise, i'll stop" she said softly as paul nodded slowly
"oh, and the song is good" he said with a small grin
