GREYS ANATOMY
SEASON 16 EPISODE 1IT'S BEEN A WEEK SINCE THE WHOLE HIKING INCIDENT. JACKSON HAD TAKEN hours to come back so maggie took it upon herself to go find him. jackson had stumbled upon two injured patient, so he called for the paramedics
"hey" jackson greeted maggie as he walked up to her as she was tying her scrub cap "shepherd was able to do a complete repair of mari's nerves" he informed her
"that's good. that's good. how's jai?" she asks as she sits on the bench
"he's improving, actually. how's that ankle?" he asks her
"it's a little better" she bluntly answers
"good. how about us? how are we?" he asks curiously
"hmm?" she hums as if she didn't hear him
"it's been a week, maggie" he said
"we agreed..."
"to let our tempers settle. before we talked further about—
she cut him off "you abandoning me on a dark and foggy road?" she argued as she stood to face him
"that walk that i took—
she cut him off "that walk you took?"
"...ended up saving two lives"
"is that what we're calling it now? that walk you took? you left me in a car. on a unfamiliar road i-in the woods, surrounded by...fogs and bears and wolves" maggie argued
"there were no bears. why—
she cut him off once again, raising her voice "none that we could see, but i could hear them!" her raised voice caused the rest of the doctors around them glance at the two "this is why we should wait to talk" she whispers
"yeah i got it" he said as she walked away
time went on and jackson was in the radiology room looking at his jai ct scans. the door was pushed opened, he glanced back to see maggie "heard about jai" she said as she came in
"yeah, radiology says he has watershed infarcts, which makes no sense in this case. he's 35, he could do an ironman, and he just strokes out. out of nowhere" he explains
"did you do an echo or a v/q?" maggie questioned
"of course i did, maggie" jackson responds
"i... i'm trying to help" she assured him
"jai was hanging on the edge of a cliff with two shattered legs, and mari hung onto him. she hung on so hard that a tree sliced through the nerves in her arm and almost cut it off. but she hung on, pulled him from the brink, like the edge of certain death. and then we show up and we bring him back here and we put him through excruciating surgeries and now he's on... life support, somewhere between alive and dead. so, i'm wondering if she should have... back at that cliffside, if she should have just... let him go. because there's something inside him that we can't find. hell, we can't even name it. there's something there that's broken beyond... repair" he said
"in this metaphor, am i the thing that is broken beyond repair? am i the thing that, um... should just be thrown over a cliff now?" maggie asked
"no. no. not you, maggie. us" he answered

MAEVE SLOAN'S EYE BROWS ROSE SLIGHTLY "SO YOU JUST PACK UP AND BOOK a flight to vancouver?" she asked confusedly
jackson nodded "i needed to get away. and what better way than to spend it with my favorite person" he gave her a sly grin
"or maybe you just needed victoria?" maeve asked curiously. meredith grey had called her last night. according to her, jackson was flirting with victoria the paramedic, the same paramedic who saved jackson, mari, and jai
jackson furrowed his brows "how do you know about vic—" he cut himself off before nodding slowly "meredith" he muttered
"so who's this victoria?" she asked
jackson glanced at her "what? you jealous or something?" he asked curiously
maeve chuckled as she shook her head "absolutely not" she said. before she thought back to her blue eyes "and you know that"
jackson sighs as he leans his head back on the couch "maeve, you really have to let him go" he admitted
she shook her head "it's hard. it's hard to let go of a six year relationship. it hurts even more when it was your own father who ruined your chance to get back together with the guy you love!" she objected
jackson slowly nodded "you know, your dad really misses you" he ignored her objection. he watched how her eyes rolled "are you really going to let a guy who cheated on you come between you and your father?" he questioned
maeve looked anywhere but those green eyes "i of all people know what dean did. but dean was always there for me whenever my dad wasn't. whenever my dad spent hours working. you have no idea how lonely i felt at times. or how disgusted i felt when he'd have sex with god knows who as i was outside in the living room because there was only one room! i would have to leave my own house and go to dean's, so i could give my dad his fucking privacy" she ranted "but where was my privacy when i wanted to give dean one more chance? if my dad really missed me where is he? why doesn't he come down here instead of making lexie call me or making you try to convince me to talk to him" she scoffed "you know? at least dean tried to talk to me, even after my dad threatened his career!" she said in pure anger "everyone just thinks about mark sloan's feelings, but what about mine? do my feelings really not matter?" she asked as her eyes sting with tears
jackson was left speechless, yet apart of him finally understood why maeve sloan was so upset with her father. although, he didn't like dean. he came to a conclusion, that dean salvatore was her anchor, the same anchor that prevent maeve from blowing up in mark sloan's face
