AS SOON AS LEXIE LEFT MARK sighs, maeve heard his steps inching to the bedroom dooor. she immediately ran back into her fathers bed, pulling the covers over her figure, and closed her eyes. mark entered, he knew his daughter all too well
he walked over to the empty side of the bed, taking his shoes off before he got in. he threw one last glanced at her before speaking "i know you're awake" he continues to speak seeing as he didn't receive an answer from her "maeve i want you to know that you are more than enough for me. and that you're not selfish. as your father, i should have known that sloan coming into the picture was going to be tough on you. i got all caught up in my guilt and i pushed you away. i never meant for any of that. sloan maybe my oldest daughter, but you'll always be my first" he heard a small sniffle coming from her
he turned his body so he could face her turned away figure. he placed his left hand around her shoulder, giving it a small squeeze "mae...you're the one person who i can never stop loving. you're my entire world. and you know, i can't stand to see you be mad at me" he received a small chuckle from her. maeve sighs softly before turning her body to face his "c' mere" he beckons as she smiled softly and wrapped her hands around his neck
he sighs in relief when he wrapped his hands around the one person he truly can't live without "how does l.a. sound?" he questioned with a small grin as he pulled away
"absolutely not" she chuckles softly before her smile faded when she remembered that lexie and mark broke it off "i'm sorry about lexie"
she noticed mark become tense. he played it off with a shrug "on the bright side you don't have to sleep on the couch anymore" he said as he laid back in bed
she hit his chest playfully "you're an ass for making me sleep on the couch"
"i'm your dad, don't call me an ass" he said sternly but then glanced at her "sorry about that" maeve glanced up at him and the two began to giggle
