AFTER MAEVE AND MARK'S conversation, mark and lexie were paged to the hospital. he muttered a 'i'm sorry' to maeve right before he left
"so, what are we going to do?" sofia asked her older sister as the two were in maeve's bed
"well, we have until 9pm till we have to go to the hospital to drop you off with callie and arizona" maeve told her as she pokes her sister's cheek
"why can't i just stay here with you?" sofia pouts
"because dad, lexie, and i are going to joe's and little girls aren't allowed" maeve explains
"fine" sofia sighs "but can we sing along to high school musical 2?"
"you don't have to ask me twice" maeve smiled at her little sister

"i'm leavin' today 'cause i gotta do what's best for me you'll be okay i've got to move on and be who i am i just don't belong here, i hope you understand we might find a place in this world someday but, at least for now i gotta go my own way" maeve sung into the hairbrush she was holding
"what about us? what about everything we've been through?" sofia sings troy's part, seeing as she begged for maeve to be gabriella because of her beautiful voice
"what about trust?" maeve questions as she kneels in front of her little sister
"what am i suppose to do?" sofia shrugs her shoulders
"i gotta leave but i'll miss you" maeve held her hand
"oh so, i've got to move on and be who i am" maeve sung
the two were so distracted that they didn't hear the door open. nor did they check if the door was locked after mark and lexie left
"why do you have to go?" a voice calls out from behind causing the two to let out a scream, maeve immediately brings sofia into her arms
maeve looked up to see a familiar face "are you kidding me!" she exclaims as she grabs the pillow and throws it at jackson "why would you do that!"
jackson furrowed his brows "w-why i brought you a balloon and flowers? well because it's your birthday" he says as he holds the balloon and flowers up
maeve sighs before letting go of sofia, who gladly goes back to watching the movie "dad really needs to start locking the door" she sighs before getting up to meet jackson
jackson chuckled "happy birthday big sloan"
"i've told you not to call me that" she smiled as she leans up to wrap her hands around his neck, bringing him into a hug
