𝗮𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟵
MAEVE WAS IN THE REHEARSAL ROOM WAITING ON THE REST OF the cast. she was seated on the barstool in front of the keyboard. her hands played the keys of the song she was working on. she cleared her throat before singing a piece of the song
"we can build a wall downtown we can build a wall and divide the places we hang out and our friends will get caught up in the middle will they hate us now? seems like it's the only thing we'll ever wanna talk about at least for a while, yeah" she sung the first verse softly. she was so concentrated on singing that she didn't hear when people walked in
"i'll admit, yeah, yeah, it will take some time to get over us" she sung the pre-chorus before moving on to the chorus
"and i know i'm gonna feel like shit the minute you go and you're gonna miss the makeup that i left on your pillow it will hurt until it doesn't if we keep moving on, mmm and i know it's gonna suck to spend my birthday alone but the money that we saved up, we can spend on our own it's gonna sting a little 'cause nobody likes moving on"
as she lifted her fingers from the keys, her heart and her body jumped when she heard a voice speak up "that was really good"
she turned to see charlie gillespie and kenny ortega "charlie's right. i know i've told you this before, but you really do have a beautiful voice maeve" kenny spoke up
maeve smiled softly "thank you"
"hey, who's the song by?" charlie questioned
maeve glanced from the keyboard to the two men "i-i um i wrote it" she said as the two men stared at her with wide eyes, surprised written all over their faces
"who hurt you?" kenny spoke softly
a small chuckle left maeve's lips, her fingers fiddled with her ring "it's a long story" she grinned softly
"wait, the first ever song you ever released was the song called light me up, right? the one used in that after movie?"charlie asked enthusiastically
maeve was a bit taken back, she never told anyone in the cast, not even kenny "y-yeah, h-how'd you know?" she asked curiously
"i-i- m-mad-madison, told me" he lied, not wanting the girl to know that he may or may not have looked through her social media once the two followed each other
maeve slowly nodded, as kenny looked towards the brunette girl, an idea coming to mind. neither of the three spoke, seeing as the rest of the cast entered the rehearsal room
as the day went by, owen and maeve were taking their break. she was chugging down her water bottle when owen spoke up "hey, i didn't know that your song was featured on the after movie. that's pretty sick" he said enthusiastically
maeve furrowed her brows slightly, before removing her water bottle from her mouth, she gulped the water before speaking "yeah" she smiled slightly "how'd you find out?" she asked curiously
"oh charlie, told everyone once he found out. he even made us hear the song" he shrugged "it's a nice song by the way" maeve slowly nodded and muttered a thank you, before owen went back to his drum set
so madison didn't tell him? she thought. she glanced towards charlie who was playing with the strings of his guitar with jeremy
