It was 3 o'clock in the night when he woke up again. This time he heard the creaking noise coming from just outside his room. It felt like someone already inside the house and now, trying to break into his room. He was trembling in fear, his whole body went numb, he was frightened, but he cannot lose his mind, not now. After gathering some courage back, he went out and tried to check for the noise. The creaking sound almost disappeared, and the room became quiet and silent again.
Suddenly, he realized that his room's lights are off, but how could it is possible as he didn't turn off the lights when he was going for the bed and the AC is still on, so there was no power cut though. It was strangely outlandish.
He discarded any idea that made him believe in paranormal activity as it was the middle of the night. He wasn't in a mood to engage in any superstition to make any conclusion. So he presumed that maybe his friend turned off the lights.
