Chapter 21

Jacob Pov

Its been an hour since Jade went back. I was started to get worried. I found myself dozing off from time to time. Seth and Embry loaded up on snacks from the vending machines. I wasn't hungry, which was very unsual. I always hungry to be honest, but not now.

"Jacob." I heard my name being called. I turned in the direction in which I heard, and saw Mrs. Austin. She walked toward where me and the guys were at.

"Hey, momma." Embry said, stuffing his face with powdered donuts. Seth's mouth was to full to speak so he just waved. Ugh, they could be embrassing sometimes.

"Hey guys." She replied. She then turned to me," How long has it been since she's went back?" She asked. I could tell she was worried. It looked like she had been crying.

"An hour ago." I answered, shoving my hands in my pocket.

She nodded," Have you heard anything?" She then asked.

I shook my head. "No ma'am."

"Great. "She muttered.

"Where is Mr. Austin?"

"At home getting a bag ready for Jade, just in case she stays for a few days. He should be here later on." She answered.

Oh was all I said.

I watched as she took a sit and took out her phone.

My eyes went to the clock. 9:34pm. If the doctor didn't come out in five minutes, I was going back there myself. I understand running tests and trying to get results, but it shouldn't take that long. Maybe I was exaggerating or maybe the imprint talking. To be honest I think it was both.

Sigh. What was taking so long? Another half hour passed and we haven't heard anything. Jade's dad showed up within that amount of time along with Dylan. The emergency room starting to clear out. It was just us and some man with, I'm assuming, his daughter.

I looked down the hallway, seeing doctor Burke's walking down toward us. We all stood up. My heart started to beat faster, my palms were getting sweaty and my throat was getting dry. I was nervous. I didn't know what expect and what was happening to my girl.

"How is she doc?" Dylan asked,"did you find anything wrong?"

"When she first told me what was wrong, her symptoms related to Crohn's disease." Doctor Burke told us. My heart dropped. Not Crohn's disease. No. Never.

"But as we performed test, we started to discover a mass in her stomach." A mass? What the hell?

"A mass?" Dean questioned.

The doctor nodded, " Indeed, a mass. This mass is causing a blockage in her disgestive system, which is causing her to be sick."

"So what the hell does this mean?" I asked. Mrs. Austin looked at me as to say,' watch your language young man'. I mouthed, 'sorry'.

"This means we are going to have to operate."

"This is perfect." Embry exclaimed, sarcastically.
