Moving to La push was not something that Jade Austin favored. She despised the fact of moving, meaning that she had to leave behind a best friend and loved ones. Refusing to go to La push, Jade begin to live with her older sister Courtney. After liv...
MEMO: Sorry for the lateeeeeee update, I know I've been writing this story for years and you guys have stuck with me the entire way. I appreciate your loyalty and your encouragement. The past year or two hasn't been the best but I haven't given up and I won't. I love you guys and enjoy this chapter❤️
It has been three weeks since me and Jade broke up. I feel like shit and I most definitely looked like shit as well, but I couldn't have looked as bad as I felt, because how can a person look incomplete. She hadn't been returning any of my calls which meant she was ignoring me, and she had probably blocked me. I hated it in either case. I just wanted my girl back. Apparently I wasn't the only one she was avoiding. She was avoiding her brother Dylan, she wasn't talking to him because he knew about everything and he didn't tell her. I understand why she is upset but it wasn't Dylan's secret to tell. He was right to keep it from her. I felt bad for him too because I know he misses his sister, and it served to make me feel worse, because that was also my fault. Stevi wasn't talking to Embry right now either. He ended up telling her everything but she was just as upset as Jade was, so getting her to invite Jade to the bonfire was pointless. All of this was my fault and I just wanted to fix it. I just didn't know how. I've been doing the same things for the past few weeks. Patrolling and fixing up my bike. Just trying to keep my mind off of things but that only did so much. I know the guys were getting annoyed with me and Embry during patrol because all could think about were our imprints. Currently, I was at Sam and Emily's place watching some basketball game with the guys. I wasn't really paying attention to it though. I was going through me and Jade's messages and pictures on my phone. I smiled at some of the goofy pictures we had taken together, and some of silly messages we would send each other. I really missed it and I wanted it back. "Food is ready." Emily said, placing the last dish on the table. Everyone went to the table except for me and Embry. I'm pretty sure he was doing the same thing that I was. He was just as messed up. "Stop sulking guys and come eat!" Jared said with a mouth full of food. I rolled my eyes. I hope he chokes. Embry never looked up from his phone, as if he didn't even hear anything. I eventually got up and tapped Embry on the shoulder. "Hey man time to eat." I told him. "Not hungry." He replied coldly, right as his stomach began to growl. "Your stomach says otherwise. Come on, Embry." I pressed. I wasn't up for eating either but I wasn't about to let myself starve to death. He mumbled something along the lines of 'Eating isn't going to get her back' before groaning and walking to the table with me in tow. We sat down and began fixing our plates before digging in. Emily had made roast beef, Macaroni, Cabbage and Rolls. It was one of my favorite meals she would make and I knew she made it to help me cheer up. It did help a little bit but not much. I did thank her for it though because she definitely didn't have to do that for me. After eating, we helped Emily put up the food and clean up the kitchen. Paul and Jared were usually the pigs who would leave the table a mess and Sam wasn't having it anymore. I didn't mind helping Emily out though. She does a lot for us when she doesn't have to and I'm grateful for that. I was outside sitting on the porch while everyone else was still inside focused on the game. I heard the door open and close before the seat beside me was occupied. It was Embry. I knew he would be out here sooner or later. "Dude...I can't do this." He said frustrated, his head in his hands. "I know, man, I know."
*** The next day came and I was headed to First Beach. Today was the day of the Whale Trail. Each year the school would host a celebration to welcome the whales and other marine animals back. There would be food for everyone to eat and games for kids to play. It was always a good time. I remember my dad taking me when I was little, and I've always thought that it was the coolest thing. Once I got there, the beach was crowded. There were many people seated on the beach with chairs. You could tell most of them had gotten here early to try to get a good spot to see the whales. There were other people up getting food and kids running around playing. I located the pack on the far end and saw that Seth had saved me a spot. "Thanks man." I told him before sitting down. "No problem, Emily brought hamburgers and hotdogs. I saved you a couple of each." He replied handing them to me. Note to self: Protect Seth at all cost. "Good looking out, Bro." I said before starting on one of my hotdogs. Before I could take another bite, I smelled the scent I grew fond of...the scent that had me in love. I turned to see her beautiful face smiling with Stevi at her side. It felt like it had been forever since I had seen her in person. She hadn't changed much over these past few weeks. I wasn't really expecting her to, she was already perfect in my eyes. I watched as her hair fell effortlessly down to her waist. It had grown a couple inches since I had seen her. She wore a black crop top with some denim shorts. It was simple but it was enough to take my breath away. Even on this cloudy day she still shone bright, she didn't need the sun. It needed her. I turned my head for a split second to look at Embry whose gaze was fixed on Stevi. I know he couldn't bare not being there by her side. I felt the same way. I looked back over to Jade who had just locked eyes with mine. She froze in place not moving a muscle. She had a blank expression on her face, still beautiful to say the least. I stood up and she took a step forward. I tried my best to keep from smiling which was hard as I continued to walk towards her. We eventually closed the distance between us, looking at each other intently. I wanted nothing more than to lower my lips to hers. However, it was silent. No words were exchanged for a minute until I managed to say, "Hey." She nodded, including a small wave before looking away from me. "Look I'm sorry..." I started to say, trying to get closer, but she stopped me from getting any closer by placing both of her hands on my bare torso to keep me at the distance I was. "Jacob..." She sighed, keeping her hands on me. Oh, how I longed for her touch. Her hands were so soft on my hard body. I took a breath as her hands went around my neck, her eyes looking intently into mine before her lips were on mine. My arms snaked around her waist, pulling her closer to me, deepening the kiss I longed for... "Jake! Jake!" I was pulled from my daydream by Seth who was also tapping on my shoulder. Jade's eyes were still locked with mine before turning and walking away with Stevi. They ended up opting on a spot that was still within eyes view of us. So that was a plus. At least we could keep an eye on them. I groaned. "What is it, Seth?" I asked, watching my girl walk away with her nice ass. If, no, when we get back on good terms, I'd have to smack that a couple of times to make up for lost time. "The whales are here." He replied, pointing out into the ocean. There looked to be a few dozen whales passing by. Some of them jumping out of the water. There were also sea otters swimming by as well. I looked over at Jade who stood looking in amazement. We talked about coming to this a couple of months ago. I would have loved to experience this moment with her together, hand in hand but it couldn't happen this year. Maybe next year. After the celebration, some of the guys stayed to play football. I didn't plan on staying. I was going to go work on my bike and do something to keep my mind off Jade. Who had left about 15 minutes before I did. I overheard her and Stevi talking about going to Port Angeles to hit up the mall tomorrow. Apparently Bath and Body works were having a huge sale and they intended to be the first ones there. I had just gotten to my shed to work on my bike when I saw Jade sitting on the counter. I was taken aback at her presence because I definitely wasn't expecting it. She looked to be deep in thought before she looked and saw me at the door. Her eyes lit up for a split second before dulling when she saw me. "Um hey." I said. "What are you doing here?" I then asked walking towards her. I was now in front of her leaning up against the Rabbit. Her eyes finally met mine and I began searching for any clue as to why she was here. It wasn't like I didn't want her here, I just wasn't expecting it. Hell, it was good to be this close to her. She hopped off the counter standing directly in front of me before speaking, " I just wanted to let you know that I haven't told anyone about your secret and I don't plan on it." What? She couldn't be serious. I'm glad that she wouldn't go prancing around telling the secret but that wasn't enough to come for a visit. "So you couldn't have texted or called to tell me that? Oh that's right, it requires you to unblock me." I laughed dryly. Yes, she blocked me and it drove me insane. She put her head down as if she was guilty. Yes, guilty as charged Ms. Austin. Jade looked back at me with a blank expression on her face as if she was emotionless. As if she was trying to hide the emotions that she was feeling. "Look, that's all I came here to say, okay." She said walking past me. Before she could go any further, I pulled her back to me, wrapping my arms around her waist. "Let me go." She sighed immediately getting frustrated. She tried to get out my grasp but her attempts were futile. I wasn't budging one bit. She gave upand folded her arms a-crossed her chest. If this wasn't a serious moment, I would definitely be laughing. She looked so cute. Stubborn ass. "Is this really it for us?" I asked her looking in her eyes. They were hesitant and so was she because she didn't say anything. She didn't expect me to say that. She was trying to look everywhere but at me, but I wasn't going for it. "Tell me you don't feel anything, Jade Austin. Look me in my eyes right now, and tell me you don't feel anything for me anymore!" I half yelled. She still didn't say anything. "Just let me explain everything." I pleaded. Still no words from Jade. She just stared up at me. I took that opportunity to lower my lips to hers. She kissed back with no hesitation her arms instantly going around my neck. I pulled her closer deepening the kiss. I missed her body on mine. I missed her lips on mine. I walked us over to my work counter not breaking the kiss and picked her up to sit her down on it. Her legs separated and I took that opportunity to stand in between them. My hands roamed the bare parts of her torso that weren't covered by her shirt. Her skin was so soft and delicate against my hands. Man, how I missed this. I felt her pull on the belt loops of my shorts to pull me closer as if we could get any closer than we already were. If we could be in each other's skin right now, we would be. After kissing a little bit longer, I pulled away from her and rested my forehead on hers, closing my eyes. "Tell me you didn't feel anything just then." My eyes were now open and I was looking into hers once more. I saw her green crystals begin to water up and my heart began to sink. She quickly got down off the cabinet and got out of my grasp before saying, "I have to go." She ran out of the shed leaving me standing there in disbelief. My fists balled up in frustration. Everything that was on the cabinet was now on the floor out of anger. Why kiss me back if you were just going to leave? "Dude...you alright? I just saw-" I didn't even have to look up to know that it was Embry. I cut him off. "Does it look like it?" I asked sarcastically. "Just tell me what happened." He said. So I did. After that, he hit me upside the head. I guess he wanted to die today. "What the hell was that for?" I asked getting ready to punch him in the stomach. Embry knew better than to hit me. He quickly held his hands up in surrender before starting to speak. "Jake, she kissed you back. That means she does still feel something for you." He said which was true. Her leaving is what really hurt me so I wasn't even thinking like that until now. Come to think of it, she hadn't answered any of my questions but that didn't necessarily mean that it was a good thing. "I don't know, man. I'm tired of this. Yes, I get it, I fucked up but it's getting to the point to where I want to give up." I huffed, running a hand through my hair. Jade was really frustrating me right now. "I mean all we can give them is more time to process things." Embry mentioned. He was right. "I'll be a damn corpse waiting on Jade. But you are right." I groaned, " Ugh she is so damn stubborn!" I exclaimed. Embry laughed. She really was stubborn. "Yeah, so is her best friend. It's like pulling teeth." Embry stated. " Definitely." We sat and talked for a little bit longer before Embry left to go home. I stayed in the shed to pick up the mess I made before going inside the house. I had patrol later on and wanted to relax before hand. I found myself lying on the couch flipping through some channels on the television until I settled on Spider-man 2. I found myself dosing off after getting comfortable until I was completely sleep.
