Chapter 17

Jacob POV

I ran down the hallway with Embry on my tail. I heard other footsteps, but I didn't pay attention to who it was. I hope it wasn't what I thought it was. I couldn't smell anything but I wanted to make sure.

At this moment I didn't care about anything but Jade. I was in protection mode, and I would protect the person I cared about.

I came to a door, that was a little foreign to me. I passed by it while I was here, but I never payed attention to it.

" you think they are in there" Dylan asked from behind me.

"only one way to find out." I opened the door, Which was the biggest mistake in the history of the universe. It was like my life flashed before my eyes. Jade hung up side down from the door frame, to distract us.

"Boo!" she said and started laughing. That was an WTF moment.

Out of nowhere Stevi poured a big bucket of cold water on us. Neither of us had time to move. And for the first time in a long time, I was kinda cold.

" Stevi I thought something really happened." Embry said grabbing her shoulders gently," don't scare me like that, ok?"

There it was. The imprinting had settled in.

She simply nodded.

" umm sorry" he said shaking his head, and taking his hands off her.

" uh it's...fine" She replied, putting her head down a little.

Embry left the room, quickly. He probably didn't understand what he was doing, like when I called Jade cute, before we were together. Stevi left the room also, probably going to Jade's.

" uh ok, so you .." I pointed to Jade, who hung her head," your in trouble" I said, sounding like someones dad.

" I'm sorry, now how about that kiss" she replied, puckering her lips for a kiss.

" uh no" I stated, pushing her back gently.

" I said I was sorry, and I was about to kiss you, but you blew me off" she pouted.

I held my laugh in, she was too cute. I rolled my eyes and pulled her to me.

" ew your wet" she said.

" shouldn't that be the other way around" I countered with a grin.

" and I get called the perv" she mumbled.

" what was that" I asked, knowing what she said.

" oh nothing" she answered.

" that's what I thought" I stated, pulling my shirt over my head and throwing it over my shoulder. I looked to see Jade biting her lip. I grinned, pulling her to me.

" I think you'd get in trouble for drooling on your mother's floor" I kissed her neck lightly.

" haha funny" She said, sarcastically.

"Mhm." I leaned down and capture my lips with hers. The kiss started out gentle, but...let's just say things got 'a little' rough.

When our little 'conversation' was over, we went downstairs and joined the others. They were sprawled out everywhere floor. I sat in the recliner and pulled Jade into my lap.
