Chapter 18

I woke up the next morning to the sound of birds chirping by my window. The smell of bacon got my attention. I got out of bed and stretched before going over to wake up Stevi.

" Stevi wake up" I said shaking her a little.

" hmmm." she responded, turning to look at me.

" it's time to eat breakfast" I told her. I watch as she sat up on the bed and stretch her arms. She then got up and looped her arm with mine and we headed out the door. We went down the hall and descended the stairs. When me made it into the kitchen, we seen my mom, dad, Dylan, and Courtney around the table. There were two empty seats left and Stevi and I took those.

" good morning everyone" I said, before taking a bite of bacon. A chorus of responses occurred .

" did you sleep well Stevi" my mom asked.

" yes ma'am I did. Although Jade is a wild sleeper" she replied, taking a sip of her orange juice," she almost kicked me off the bed."

" whatever" I said rolling my eyes.

" If you must know, when staying in a room with Jade it's survival 1 on 1" my dad joked, which caused everyone to laugh.

" real funny dad" I stated sarcastically. He winked at me in response.

" hey dad, can I use your car?" Dylan asked.

My dad almost choked, on his eggs he just put in his mouth. He picked up his orange juice and began to chug it. Every one else and I laughed. Dylan patted his back.

" what kinda of a question is that" my dad asked.

Dylan shrugged," I just want to spend time with the girl I love" and with that Dylan got up took his plate and left the kitchen.

" out of all the years I've known him I've never heard him say he loved someone, apart from his family" Courtney stated.

" me either" I mentioned.

The rest of breakfast was quiet as we ate. After I finished, I helped my mom clean the kitchen. My dad went to Talk to Dylan.

After that I went upstairs to my room and close the door. I didn't see Stevi so I just assume she was in the bathroom.

The sound of ' pumped up kicks' by foster the kids, signaled my phone ringing. I went over to my night stand and picked up my iPhone. It was a text from Jacob. It said:

Good morning, my gorgeous girl. I hope you slept great. I'll be over later this evening so we can hang out. Have a great day, and know I'm thinking about you. :)

I smiled as I read that. Jake is so sweet. I sent him a message saying how sweet he was and that I couldn't wait until this evening.

" if your smiling like that, then Jacob must have texted you" I heard Stevi say.

I rolled my eyes," shut up, besides you are suppose to tell what happened between you and Embry" I stated, lying down on my bed, and propping up on my elbows.

I saw her cheeks turn a tint of red.

" he was just getting to know me, that's all."

" and?" I pressed.
