Chapter 26
Jade's POV
I was in the hospital for another week before the doctor finally approved for me to go home. I was convinced that I was going to have to break out of that hell hole if he didn't. Being in the hospital is like never ending torture. Sitting in a room all day with nothing but a TV and being feed three meals a day was definitely not my style. Throughout of unexpected extension at the hospital, my family and friends would come visit me. Dylan and Jake even spent the night. I remember the both of them fighting over who sleep with me and who would sleep on the reclined couch.
It was Thursday, but not just any Thursday. My big brother was graduating from high school today. I was excited and sad. I was excited because the chum has completed a major milestone in his life. There were times when Dylan didn't want to be in school let alone do something with his life other than get drunk and have fun with girls. Dylan was definitely the womanizer. He got Leah and I still don't see how that had happen. I was also sad because that meant Dylan was getting ready to leave home, which also meant I won't have anyone to go get me tacos for breakfast on a Saturday morning while mom and dad were on one of their 'adventures'. It was truly a bittersweet day.
I looked at myself in the mirror, adjusting my black blazer and skirt before spraying some perfume. I walked to my closet and grabbed a matching clutch then transfered all the necessary items I needed before Exiting my room. I closed the door behind before taking a deep breath, knowing that was going to become easily annoyed as soon as I went downstairs. All of my family was here except Jaylon and his abomination of a wife. Don't me wrong, I love my family but they talk too much. I descended the stairs, slowly dreaded the steps that I had taken. This was going to be a long weekend.
Once I made it down the stairs, the doorbell rang. There was so many people and too much talking going on that no one could hear it ring. I went over to the door, opening it, revealing Jacob, Embry, Quil, and Stevi. Instead of letting them in, I pushed them outside and closed the door behind me. I then embraced them all in a group hug. After releasing them, I took a step back, letting out a deep breath and smiled.
"Someone is glad to see us." Embry stated with a smirk.
"You have no idea." I replied, placing my hands on my hips. They all laughed.
"Well you look beautiful." Jake told me, pulling me into his warm arms. "Thank you." I replied, as I pecked his lips. I was getting ready to pull away until our lips capture each others once more.
" Let's go inside before Jake whips his penis out." Quil stated before shooting into the house with Embry and Stevi in toe. Jake and I laughed as we watched them go into the house.
"Jake, just a fair warning my family likes to talk, a lot." I told him, grabbing his hand pulling him towards the door.
"Thanks for the heads up. I'm sure the Others would have liked to known that vital piece of information." He replied with a grin.
"Well maybe they should have stayed." I said smirking before opening the door. We walked in the house, full of people who needed to go home already. Jake and I made our way through various members of my family speaking to us and asking Jake if he was my boyfriend. We finally made it outside to the patio seeing my mom, dad, Dylan, Embry and the rest. Sam and Emily decided that they would just meet us at the auditorium along with Courtney and her boyfriend whose plane had a layover. Everyone should have just met us there as well. Get this we are having a dinner after the graduation ceremony. Ugh. Why did my parents have to be so extra?
I greeted everyone on the patio before taking a seat at the table next to Dylan. Jake took the next seat beside me, placing a gentle, warm hand on my thigh. I felt blood rush to my cheeks as I placed my hand onto his and intertwined them together. I looked up at him, his brown eyes staring into my green ones, and smiled. Jake chuckled as bought my hand to his lips and placed a sweet kiss on it.  "Dylan, what time do you have to be at the auditorium again?" I asked

" At around 5:30. It's 4:45 now we probably want to start leaving now if we want to beat some of the traffic." He replied, standing up and grabbing his cap and gown from the back of his chair. " Mom, Dad I'm going to let everyone know and then head to the car." Dylan then said as he starting walking into the house. My parents nodded in response and we all began to file into the house. Dylan made the announcement everyone began to exit the house and made their way to their vehicles.

"Dylan Connor Austin, honor graduate." The Head principal Mr. Taylor announced. My family completely went nuts screaming and cheering for Dylan as he began to walk across the stage fist pumping. He was such a goofball but I was truly proud of him.
After they announced the rest of the names, which didn't take very long, the band played the alma mater. I was happy that I didnt have to participate since my brother was graduating.
"You're next, little sister." Courtney said from beside me with a big smile on her face. Courtney and her boyfriend had made it a few names before it was Dylan's turn. I smiled at the thought of it. This time next year, I will be the last of my family to graduate high school. I still haven't made up my mind if I wanted to go to the military or go to college first.
"Yeah I'm next and the last." I replied.
" You know mom and dad are going to start balling when you walk across that stage next year, especially dad." She stated.
I laughed," You're right about that."

After the ceremony, we gathered outside to take pictures and mingle until it was time to go to the restaurant. Mom had made some reservations for some Italian restaurant in Forks whose name I couldn't remember. All I knew that I got to eat and I couldn't wait.
***
"So Jade, I'm curious...what will you do after you graduate high school? Surely you must have a plan." My Aunt Abigail asked from across the dinner table. She was my dad's brother's ex wife. They had been divorce for 2 years now and you would think she had gotten the hint that my uncle didn't want to be with her ever again. She still think that there is so hope left. But she had been asking me questions since she first seen me and she is getting on my nerves.
"I'll let you know around this time next year. Tonight is about Dylan not me." I replied growing irritated more. I felt my mom and dad burn holes in my skull from their stern looks that said,"Watch your damn mouth".I just ignored them because I just wanted the cooks in this restaurant to hurry up with my food so that I could be happy. I felt a warm hand squeeze my thigh. I instantly placed my hand over Jake's and intertwined them. Thank God for Jake because besides the fact that good was on the way he has been keeping me from going across this table.
" That's understandable I suppose." She replied in a snobbish tone. Now she must not know that I will fight an old hag if I have to. Just as I was about to reply the food  came out and it brighten my whole entire mood. I guess I will let her live this time.
"Here comes the cavalry." My dad stated causing everyone to laugh. After eating and investing in more small talk, it was time for Dylan to open up his gifts. I watched and took pictures of him opening up his gifts one by one. Most of it was money and gift cards. He had gotten other things like stuff for his dorm room and art supplies. He had gotten to my gift which was last and I got excited. I hoped he like it. I watched him as he unwrapped my gift. I had made him this scrapbook with all of us from the time we were babies to the age we are now. I also bought him a gas card and condoms.
"Thank you, Jade. I love my gift. Even the condoms. You must have known that I ran out." He stated causing everyone to laugh. Leah shot him a playful glare and just winked at her. Dylan walked over to me and hugged me.
"I'm so proud of you Dylan and I love you." I told him.
"I love you too Jade." He replied, holding me for a second then releasing me from his grasp. Dylan then turned to everyone with a huge smile on his face," Thank you for all the gifts. I really appreciate you all for supporting me and being with me every step of the way. I haven't always been on the straight and narrow path like I should but I changed that all around with help of you guys. Again thank you."
"Hey wait Dylan....I believe we have one more gift left." I heard a voice from behind Dylan and I. Tears flowed from my eyes as Dylan and I turned around to see who it was..........

Well who do you guys think it is.......found out next time.
