"Christine! Get your stuff together! The movers wait outside!" I hear my mom shouting from the kitchen. "On my way, mom!" I respond.

I live in Los Angeles since day one. I would never leave this city.

I just dropped out of college and I am about to move out to live independently for the first time in my life. It's not like I don't want to live with my family for some sort of personal reasons, but I've always dreamed of being dominant over my own life. I just got a job at a nightclub as a bartender. I love the vibe, and I'm also a night kind of person, so it's just perfect for the moment.

I've preferred Highland Park as a neighborhood to move to, It is not that far from my family's place, and I like the expanse. I actually had many reasons to chose it. One good friend of mine lives there, which makes me even more secure about it. I know her from day one, she has always been by my side and knows me better than anyone else does!

She already moved out last year immediately after she dropped out of college. She has her life based on a continuum of cool trips and free time to spend. The fact that she already has an actual group of friends she always hangs up with, more like every weekend, just confirms my opinions. Can't wait to see her!

I've just packed my last things as the moving helpers just left. "Christine! You gonna come see us soon, right?" my seven years old sister asks while running towards me with her plush tedy bear in her right hand.
"Sure, honey, not as I'm moving to Asia or something. My new place is literally 45 miles away from here, so you can come to visit me whenever you want." I say while bending down to give her a protective kiss on her forehead. She smiles childish.

"That's all, Chris?" my mom asks while giving me the last bag that contains my art supplies. "Yes, mom, thanks!" I say while putting the bag on the car backseat.

"Call dad or me later and be aware you can reach to us whenever something happens." she says while hugging me. "I'll do, mom, don't think about it too much. What could get wrong? And if it does, you guys are the first people I'll reach to!" I say while getting into the car assuring her it's going to be just fine. "I just can't stress it enough, but I trust you, baby, take care, please! See ya soon!" she says. I smile nodding. The next thing I do is leaving.

It's that even normal for me to not feel guilty for leaving everything behind just as easy? I mean, I've always dreamed about getting my own place and a job and spending time with a pretty big group of friends and getting into a relationship maybe...but I never thought that leaving this place would be as easy as it seems.

I don't want to worry about that, so I play some 90s music to make the road seem shorter and more fun. I finally feel free.

After about 40 minutes I check the GPS once again. I'm about two miles away from my place. It doesn't last any longer till I finally see myself standing there, in front of my brand new home. I don't really know what to expect from the neighborhood. I don't even know what they all look like. I hope we will get along pretty well, I'm not the type of person who disturbs others anyways, I hope for the same from them.

I pull the car into the garage. I could see the moving helpers still getting stuff inside. They are almost done. The next thing I do is calling Michelle, the friend I was talking about earlier.

"Hi, Mi!" I say. "Hey Chris!" she responds on a hyped mood. "I just got home. I'm waiting for the moving helpers to carry all the stuff inside. Do you mind coming over?" I say while getting my laptop and the bag with my art supplies from the car while holding my phone with my right shoulder towards my ear. "Yeah, I'll be there in less than 5 minutes." she tells. "Ok, Mi, see you. Bye!" I say. "Bye!" She mumbles, and hangs up.
