Twelve || Clean Freak

I continue to clean, dusting off all the books and sweeping all the floors. I hear the same footsteps coming outside my door that had interrupted me an Eren.

"How's it going, cadet?"

"I actually just finished." I respond to the corporal.

"I'll take a look." He said, walking into the room. He drags his finger underneath the desk and takes a look at it. I smirk, remembering that i cleaned under every desk. He steps closer to the books, examining every book, looking for dust.

"This isn't half as bad as I thought it would be." He admits looking at me.

"What's that supposed to mean?" He looks back the other way. What are you deaf? I say in my head, using his comeback against him. I don't say this, knowing I'll just get into trouble.

"You did pretty good, cadet. I want you to clean the room Eren just finished. That kid sucks at cleaning." I giggle and walk back into the room I was once talking to Eren in.

The corporal walks back out of the room to go back to what he was once doing.

I didn't exactly enjoy cleaning. I was good at it and this gave me something to do, but it's not my favorite thing. I take a mop and clean the floor that Eren barely swept.

He really does suck at cleaning. I think to myself. I look over at the smudged windows that he tried to clean. I take a sponge out of the bucket and clean the windows.

I look over at a table with three books and a pen on it. I take up the books to read the titles, but when I do, I find dust hidden underneath them. I burst out laughing. Eren tried to hide the dust under books.

I snicker as I wipe down the table. Again, I hear footsteps at the door. "I can hear you laughing from all the way down the hallway." Levi says. "You think it's funny to clean."

"Yes sir! Cleaning is very funny."

"Tch. Dumb brat." He looks over at you cleaning the table. "You about done?"

"Yes. Once I clean this table it will be finished."

"Hurry up so you can get your food. If you're not quick enough, Sasha will eat it." I nod and continue to wipe down the table.

I take the cleaning supplies back to a closet and head down to the cafeteria. "Eat my food yet, Sasha?" I ask.

"The corporal wouldn't let me."

"Corporal Levi?" I ask. She nods and eats what is left on her plate. Why would he do that for me?

"I mean, he went as far as tying me up to keep me away from your food." Sasha continues. "You going to eat that potato?" She asks, eyeing my plate.

"No Sasha, you can have it." I say handing her the potato. "Just don't let the corporal figure out!" I wink. She giggles and the two of us continue to eat.

"Y/n!" Armin says with Eren and Mikasa behind him.

"Hey, guys!" The three of them sit down at my table.

"What happened after I left?" Eren asks sitting besides me.

"Well, I cleaned what looked like a library and then I cleaned the room that you were in."

"But I cleaned that room." Eren says.

I shake my head. "You did a really bad job. And did you purposely hide dust under books?" Eren smiles. "You did!"

"He would have never found out!"

"Eren, it was obvious." The two of us laugh as Mikasa and Armin have their own conversation. A shadow is cast down at my table and everyone around me tenses up. I turn around to see Levi behind me.

I salute as does everyone else at my table.  "Y/n, I need to see you in my office when you're done." Before I could say anything else, he turns and leaves the room.

"Ohhh. What did you do!" Sasha asks.

"Nothing wrong.... I think." I bring Armin, Mikasa, and Eren closer so they can hear me. "Where's his office?" I whisper. They hold in their laughter as Mikasa gives me directions.

I stand outside the corporal's office, hesitant to knock. I shake off my nerves and knock anyways.

"Name and reason." I hear the familiar voice on the other side.

"Y/n. You asked for me." I listen as his footsteps come closer to the door. He opens it and leads me inside.

"Take a seat if you'd like. This shouldn't take long." I sit in the chair facing his desk. He lowers himself back into his seat.

"How did a nasty cadet like you learn how to clean like that?" He asks me.

"Well, I would always help my mom clean the house." I say, playing with my (h/c) hair.

"You clean the best out of everyone out there." He says. "Tomorrow I want you to clean my office and the rooms Eren is assigned. I swear that boy walks into a room and makes more of a mess that what there was to start with."

"But why me, corporal?"

"Again, because you clean the best out of everyone else."

"Yes sir." I say not knowing what to do with his compliment. I feel that this will just lead me to do more work and eventually clean everything for everyone else.
