Twenty Two || The Fall of Team Levi

"BEGIN COMBAT!"

Titans swarmed around the female from all directions. "Defend the Female Titan!" Erwin orders us. I soar through the air, hitting the nape of every titan. Blood splattered on my face, blinding me for a moment. I expected to be grabbed by a titan in those couple of seconds I spent wiping the blood away, however, all the titans were going for the female. There were so many titans that it was impossible to kill them all.

"Retreat!" Erwin yells at us. I launch myself onto a branch of a tree. "Get back in formation!" High up in the tree, I watch as the female titan is eaten. The titans consume her until there is nothing left of her. Smoke filled the forest as blue flares were sent into the air. It means that we need to retreat.

"Get back on your horses, it's time for us to go!" Gunther instructs. We quickly fill up our gas cans. I follow behind Eld, Petra, Gunther and Eren. I look over and see that a green flare was sent into the air. "That's the signal from the captain." Gunther says. "We should meet up with the captain." Gunther sends a green flare into the air and we continue to move forward through the forest. I look down to my right to see a figure zooming through the forest beside us. That must be the captain.

"Wait- that's not-" Gunther yells. The figure turns around and slices their blades through Gunther.

"Gunther!" Eren yells, making his way down to the lifeless body hanging from a tree branch.

"Eren! Get back here and be careful!" I say to him. Oluo grabs onto Eren to keep him moving forward. "But Gunthers-" The figure in a cape makes their way in front of Eren.

"Eld, what do we do? The horses are too far away!" Oluo gasps. "Is that the female titan or are they working with someone?" Oluo wonders.

"How dare you!? Fight me, even if it kills me!" Petra grumbles. The figure hides behind a tree and a lightning bold emerges from where the figure had hid.

"It's coming-" Eld says. The female titan charges at us. My heart races and she comes closer and closer.

"I will defeat you!" Eren yells. He brings his hand up to his mouth. Before he could bite himself, Eld stops him.

"The four of us will kill the female titan." Eld says referring to him, Oluo, Petra and me. "Eren, head back to HQ." Eren looks over at me and then back at Eld.

"No, I will fight as well!"

"No, Eren! Your power is way too risky."

"Do you doubt us again?" Oluo asks Eren.

"Do you really find it that hard to trust us?" Petra asks. Eren grumbles and decided to move on forward. We turn back around to fight the female titan. Eld went to attack first. The female titan reached out to grab him, but he backed away. Smoke emitted from her hand. Next, Petra and Oluo charged forward, aiming at her eyes. I was about to get behind her and cut her nape, but she leans against a tree with her hand covering the back of her neck.

Eld sent us a signal to cut her arms. Petra and Oluo charged at them first followed by me and Eld. After repetitive cutting, her arms fell down to her sides. "Now the neck!" Eld screams. Eld goes straight for her, but she bends down and catches him in her mouth. She bites down on the man, killing him.

"Eld!" Petra screams. I turn away from the titan, however while I was doing so, I hit my ankle on a branch and fall to the ground. I grunt in pain and use my arms to bring myself back up. The female titan runs straight for Petra, smashing her against a tree with her foot.

"Petra.." I whisper. Oluo hooks his gear onto the nape of the titan.

"Die!" He yells. He cuts at the nape, however the skin was hardened before he could hit her. The titan kicks him over to the side, knocking his life out of his body. I watch as Eren zooms past me and towards the titan, biting down on his hand and turning into his titan form.

Note: I am aware that Levi's squad was not actually at the scene of the female titan when she screamed for the other titans to eat her, but I thought that they should be just so the story would be somewhat interesting! -M
