Chapter 17

"Man, Via and Nino sure are taking a long time..." Leona looks to the door, "oh, idea!"

"Leona, no. Whatever it is, no," Gemerai states.

"Oh come on, this will be a chance to learn more about her."

Gemerai rolls her eyes, "fine, what is it?"

"Well, Via never lets me go in the garage. So, I was thinking maybe it's a chance to go check it out," Leona smiles.

"Don't you think there's a reason for that? And what if she comes back?"

"I'm going whether you are or not," Leona begins heading for the door.

"Ugh, fine, but only to make sure you don't hurt yourself or something," Gemerai chases after her.

When they get to the garage Leona flicks on the light. They both stare in astonishment.

"Th-that's, b-but why does she have it!? How'd she get it?" Gemerai goes to take a closer look at the aircraft.

"It's got the airforce logo on it and everything!" Leona touches her hand to it.

"MMmmm don't touch it!" Gemerai grabs Leona's hand.

"Why?"

"Because only the worthy are allowed to touch such a holy piece of equipment! And we are not worthy!"

Leona gives a deadpan look. She takes Gemerai's hand from her own wrist and forces her to touch it.

Gemerai gasps, "why, would you do that!?"

Leona rolls her eyes, "because it's not gonna kill you. Besides this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for you. Might as well, right?" Leona leans in closer, "Do you wanna sit in it?"

"No! I mean yes, but I shouldn't. We shouldn't be in here and I definitely don't have permission to..."

"Once in a lifetime~" Leona says softly in Gemerai's ear.

Gemerai presses her hands together then to her lips, "hmmm..."

"Once- in- a- lifetime~" Leona repeats.

"Ha ha, alright why not? EEee!" Gemerai climbs in the cockpit.

"Pff, such a fangirl," Leona gives her a hand.

"Have you found out anything about the human situation?" Via asks.

"No, there's been no new information regarding the situation. We sent someone to go scout but has yet to return with new info. We presume he's dead or captured. He did manage to send a picture, I'm sending it now," Jasper pressed some buttons.

The G.W. chimed off. Via taps the bottom of the hologram and it reveals the picture, "the hell is that?" She says under her breath while cocking her head.

"What do you mean no new information!? Damn it, I need answers," Nino slams her fist on the table, "those are my people that are being captured for fucks sake. You people need to get your ass in gear and figure this shit out! Do your fucking jobs!"

"With all due respect I think you need to back down. We are doing our best with what we have."

"Well, your best is not good enough," Nino crosses her arms.

"Oh... my... guys look at this," Via turns the photo and taps a few times to make the image clearer, "this photo is a picture of the missing humans."

"He found them after all!?" Jasper perks up.

Nino takes a closer look, "that's not all, have a closer look."

"They're being modified," Via states.
