The legend: Volume 1

Chapter 7

Morning comes and Leona wakes up. She yawns, stretches, and heads to the bathroom. After a shower and getting dressed she heads to the kitchen. She looks up at the clock as she sits on one of the island seats, "oh yikes it's almost noon! Via usually wakes me up much earlier than this, even on the weekends," Leona then takes a moment to realize that no one else is around and that it's offly quiet. "Hello?" she hollers and takes a look around the room. No one answers.

Leona gets down from the chair and walks over to Via's bedroom door. She puts her ear to the door then knocks, "Via, you in there???" she shouts but still no response. She goes to reach for the door knob when Lennon pops out of nowhere.

"Lady Leona! What are you doing?" he stands in between her and the door.

"Lennon!" she takes a step back in surprise, "you scared me... where is everyone? Via didn't wake me up like normal and I couldn't find anyone else. Is everything alright? Why is no one around?"

"Oh, um, well... Lady Via... hasn't felt good since she came home last night, so Sara is in there right now taking care of her. Was there something you needed?"

"No I-"

Sara swings open the door, "ok Lennon! Her fever has come down and her breathing is back to normal now. I think she's going to ma-" she stops herself when she sees Leona.

Lennon exhaled in relief, "ok that's good to hear," he puts a hand to Sara's cheek, "Sara, you should get some rest. You've been up all night looking after her."

Sara puts a hand to his hand that's on her cheek, "okay, but let me know if her condition gets worse," she heads to her bedroom and Lennon heads into Via's room.

Leona talks without taking her eyes off Sara, "Man did she catch that bad of a sickness or something? That sounded pretty serious- oh... I'm- I'm talking to myself..."

After Lennon leaves Leona to talk to herself he goes to Via's sleeping pod. He sees her start to get up and rushes over, "Lady Via! You mustn't get up!" He gently tries to push her back down, "you're still severely injured."

Via shoves his hand off, "I'm fine, Lennon... what happened last night?" she puts a hand to her head.

Lennon takes a step back, "I don't know, you tell me. One minute we were talking then the next you were on the floor bleeding all over the place. You had Sara worried sick and me very concerned. What did you even do out there?"

"I got attacked by a snow wolf. Luckily, I was saved, but honestly, I didn't think the cuts were that deep. And I was only attacked after I found," Via gasps and frantically searches her body for the file.

"If you're looking for the file I put it on your desk. Don't worry I didn't look at what is inside it."

"Oh, but you should have," Via brings her legs out of the pod and scoots forward to get up. She walks to her desk.

"Lady Via, you really shouldn't be out of bed."

"Just shut up and get over here..." Via holds up the file, "This file...this file is about Leona. Take a look," Via holds out the file to Lennon and he takes it.

Lennon reads the file, "no way! Her? Really? But she's-"

"I know, but it's her and we have no choice. Now can you help me back to the pod? I'm starting to feel a bit weak." Lennon quickly puts his arm around her waist to help her back. As she sits down on the pod she asks, "So, what exactly did you tell Leona? You know, about... this situation?"

"I just told her that you were extremely ill. I didn't want her to freak out seeing you like this."

Via lays down making a pained face, "I see. That's good thinking, um, go ahead and call the school I'll be out on monday due to illness."
