Chapter 18

Via floats along the water with her arms and wings spread out. She stares up at the ceiling as the pool water gently sways her back and forth. She closes her eyes and sighs. "When does it get better?" She asks herself. She hears the pool door start to open and makes her wings disappear which makes her drop into the water.

Leona comes running in, "Wooo! Swimming and alcohol!"

"You're lucky you don't get drunk," Gemerai states as she lays out a beach towel.

"Canon ball!" Nino jumps in the pool.

Via swims up and takes in a deep breath, "are you trying to kill me!?" she grabs onto the side of the pool.

"Sorry, I didn't know you were in here," Nino wipes away the hair from her 'face'.

"I think this is the first time I've ever seen you go swimming in our pool," Leona sits down and sticks her feet in the pool.

"Yeah, well, I don't like swimming with others," Via gets out of the pool and heads for the door.

"Wait, Via. Are you not going to join the rest of the party?" Alya asks.

Roone adds, "yeah, you are the host of this house."

"Tsk, you make a good point. Fine," Via goes back over and sits by Leona.

Leona softly speaks, "so, Via... is it really going to take us two weeks to get to the thing?"

"Well, no. One week there, one week back."

Nino pops her head up from the water, "duh," she adds.

"Oh, quite you!" Leona hisses.

"Nah, I don't feel like it," Nino backward strokes, "and you still never apologized for hitting me!"

Acantha comes strolling over, "who hit her?"

Leona raises her hand, "guilty."

"Why?"

Leona scratches her face with a finger, "I was provoked..."

"We had an argument earlier. It's been solved," Via puts her feet in the water.

"Solved my ass! We still have a lot to discuss during our vacation!"

"Eh, anyway, my sisters and I need to go. Our parents are here to pick us up. So, we'll see you later," Acantha waves good-bye.

"Travel safe," Via waves back.

"Thanks for coming!" Leona hollers as they leave out the door.

Gemerai comes over and crouches, "hey, what time are we leaving in the morning?"

"Ha, you think you're still going after what happened earlier?" Via lays down with her hands behind her head, "the only reason Leona's still going is cause I can't trust her to not burn the house down."

Leona glares at Via, "no comment..."

Via crosses a leg, "and Nino's going because she can provide protection and watch Leona at the same time. And she's a lot quieter than you two. So, tell me, why should I bring you along?"

"Because we're friends?" Gemerai sits down.

"Hm, last time I checked friends don't snoop through other friends' houses and play with their valuable items."

"I mean, yeah, I regret doing that, but come on, please?"

"If you can give me a good reason by morning, I'll allow you to go."

"Alright... and what if I can't think of one?"

Via closes her eyes, "You go home. You have until Four A.M."
