As we all tiredly rested back into the prison, we were still in shock, we were scared. I walked up into my cell, it was on the upper floor and was covered with a grey sheet. I layed down on my bunk that I didn't share with anyone, and looked at the bars above me. Thinking about who we lost, if we lost anyone other than the prison men. I closed my eyes and then opened them and sat up when I heard footsteps coming towards my cell. Michonne pushed passed the curtains and sat next to me. "Thank you," I said quickly, making sure I spoke before she did. "If you weren't with me today I probably would have froze, '' I said, shaking my head at the thought. I looked at her while leaning on my knees and all she did was hug me. I was a little confused. I had barely known her and had only had maybe a few conversations with her but I hugged her back. I needed it. She needed it. We both needed a hug from someone, and at that moment, I felt like I was back home crying into my mom's shoulder about a boy who dumped me. Thinking back, I can't even remember that boy's name. In this world, highschool drama didn't matter. She pulled away and smiled. I could see she was trying not to cry, Michonne was hard, she wouldn't let it completely slip in front of me. She shook her head and smiled wider "I'm just happy you're safe, kid." Her voice was sweet yet shaky. She got up and moved quickly out of the room. I heard her say "She's in there" at the bottom of the metal stairs. I didn't know who she was talking to but I had only assumed it was Carl. I looked up at the boy who had just walked into my room. "Hey," he said, sitting down next to me with a small smile. "Later, do you wanna help my dad and I clear the field?" I looked at him and couldn't help but laugh a little "This would be the equivalent to you asking me to the movies in the old world!" I said smiling and nodding "But I'll help." I looked at him closer, trying to take in the way his eyes were so colorful and his skin looked like silk in the sun, his smell, the boyish odor smell, yet I caught his smile, his white teeth and his red cheeks ''You will?" He asked, almost surprised and stood up. "Well, do you want me to?" I questioned back with a slight bit of sass. He laughed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, yeah!" He said nodding and then standing up. He was taller than me, by quite a bit. My uptied hair made me look taller but I only stood at 5 foot. It was okay though, I kept my hair up with the same black and silver scrunchy that I had in my hair when the world ended. I had to look up at him, and I hated it, so I grabbed his shoulders and made him squat to my height. He smiled and then stood up straight again and walked to the door "Get some rest, I'll wake you up if you're not up in time." He smirked and then left the room. I fell to my bed and sighed. Oh what this world had come to; clinging to a woman that I didn't really know like she's my mother. Growing a family like bond to all the people I had met along this horrid yet peaceful journey. I drifted to sleep quickly, I was exhausted and my body needed a break.
