Later that day, Ron, Rick, Carl and I all got together to talk about guns and fighting so we could train Ron. "Hand guns will be a little better for your first go," Rick said, picking up a small black pistol. "Magazine release. Slide release, and thumb safety." he added while holding up the gun. "That stuffs easy, right dad?" Carl asked while looking at Ron. "Yeah. empty magazine. Empty chamber." Rick said, holding the gun to Ron so he could see. When someone is in front of you and they have a gun,'' Rick stated "you're gonna be scared. You will be. '' I added quickly while staring at Ron. "Your body is gonna be tense, you won't have time to think. You're just gonna want to pull the trigger when it's in front of you." Rick added while pointing the gun up "But you'll miss and you'll be dead." he said nodding then taking the gun down to his hip. "You have to get it up to your eye," he said, lifting the gun to eye level. "You gotta be strong enough to wait for your moment," Carl added. It was silent for a few moments. "I mean or you could use a katana. I never miss." I said, staring at Ron. "Can I uh.." Ron said, lifting his hand up to Rick for the gun. Rick handed it to him before Ron walked up to where Rick had been standing and aimed it at the wall with both hands. "Hey, your finger doesn't touch the trigger until you're ready to shoot." Rick said, moving Ron's finger off the trigger while walking behind him. Ron stood for a second then pulled the trigger of the unloaded gun. "Keep that one with you. Get a feel of what it's like to carry one around." Rick said, moving to the table that had a few different guns on it. "Can I shoot it?" Ron asked quickly, "Maybe like down at the walkers?" he added. "Not with how they are, the walls are strong but we're lucky the walkers are spread out, we don't wanna pull them all to one spot." Rick replied. "Well, what about target practice in the center of town? Cause then the sound will spread out in each direction. Or maybe we could use silencers or something like that. '' I looked at Carl confused, and then over at Rick who seemed confused too. I mean we didn't understand why he wanted to shoot it so bad. "But uh...." Ron said, "We probably don't want to waste bullets right now, huh?" The silence began again as none of us replied. "I just want to learn more," he spoke again. "You will.'' Carl replied, "But not now.'' I added quickly.
