y/n pov:
After everything that had happened this year summer break is truly what all of us needed.
I sighed while dragging my packed trunk down my dorm steps and into the common room. Nothing felt the same anymore, things are different and they weren't gonna go back to being normal anytime soon.
Fred crept his way towards me and wrapped his arms around me while resting his chin on my head. Fred seemed to be the only person who I actually felt happy around, happy wasn't something I've been feeling lately but when I was with him it was different.
"Fred I'm scared" I whispered so that only he could hear it.
"y/n, I promised you I would always keep you safe." He said tightening his grip on me in a comforting way.
I just let out a sigh and wrested my head into his chest.
"Oi, love birds! You coming or not?" George walked in interrupting Fred and I's moment.
The train was leaving in 10 minutes and Fred and I were still in the common room.
Fred and I both grabbed our trunks and rushed out towards the station.
We had just made it on time, the train was just pulling up to the platform.
Fred offered to bring my things onto the train for me which I kindly agreed to.
Fred and George went and found their own compartment as I wanted to sit with Hermione, Ron, and Harry; it was tradition.
Harry was going to be staying with me this summer at 12 Grimmauld place, along with Sirius.
The train ride was mainly silent, we were all so exhausted, emotionally and physically.
The train came to a stop and we all gathered our things and got off the train.
I found Fred on the platform and quickly rushed up to him to say one more goodbye, we weren't sure if Harry and I would be able to leave the house at all due to everything that was going on so I didn't know when I would be able to see Fred again.
I quickly wrapped my arms around his torso and buried my head into his chest.
"Promise you'll write me," I say.
"Everday love," He says with a slight chuckle.
"I'm gonna miss you so much," I say before pulling away.
Fred placed his hand on my face, cupping my cheek.
"I'll miss you even more" He spoke while planting a small kiss on my lips.
"Ok time to go," Harry says grabbing my arm and dragging me away.
"EVERYDAY FRED" I yell across the platform.
Harry chuckled as he brought me into a secluded room and we were met with none other than Sirius Black.
"Dad!" I say running up to him and tackling him with a hug.
He stumbled back a few steps but wrapped his arms around me just as tight.
"We do have to be going though, I can't be seen in public," He said now pulling away.
I nodded as I grabbed onto him and grabbed Harry by the sleeve.
With a familiar-sounding crack, Harry, Sirius, and I were now standing in 12 Grimmauld Place.
"Sirius is that you?" a familiar voice called from down the hall.
Professor Lupin had now emerged from around the corner.
Harry and I both looked at each other, exchanging confused glances.
"Professor Lupin?" Harry asked, confused as to why he was here.
"Yes, you see Harry, Remus and I go way back, along with James" My dad spoke, making eye contact with Harry when he spoke of James Potter.
Harry's facial expression changed as it all clicked for him.
"Come on children, I'll show you where you'll be staying" Remus spoke up.
Harry and I followed him up the dark staircase. The whole house was quite dark, it almost had a gloomy atmosphere to it.
Remus first showed Harry his room and Harry went to go settle in.
He then led me farther down the hallway and into a more secluded bedroom.
"This is your room" he spoke.
The walls of the room were a deep forest green, gold accents decorated the room.
"This was also your room when you were a child you know"
I smiled at the thought of younger me being able to live with my father, I barely know him but he's truly the best father one could ever ask for and I'm thankful I have him in my life now.
I gave Remus a soft smile and with that, he turned and left me alone.
I put my trunk down on the floor and sat on the bed, feeling it sink under the weight.
I examined the room, it wasn't too big but it wasn't small either; it was just the right size.
The bed was in the middle of the room, with a nightstand on both sides of the bed.
I ran my hand over the nightstand to my left and opened the drawer that it had.
In it, there was a framed photo of me on my dad's shoulders with a big smile on my face while he was spinning around.
I picked it up, smiling while examining the photo. It wasn't fair what happened to him. He's a good man.
I gently placed the photo down on the bed and picked up the next thing in the drawer.
It was an old piece of folded parchment it was folded multiple times.
I slowly opened it and began reading what was written on the parchment.
" Dear Y/n,
My beautiful daughter, I'm sorry I had to leave. I'm sorry it had to be this way. I love you more than you will ever know my dear. I don't know when you will find this or if you will ever see me again; mind you I doubt you'd ever want to see me after this.
But I need you to know that this wasn't my choice, I needed to do this for protection, for safety.
Please know that not a day will go by where you are not on my mind, you're my whole heart, my best creation.
I love you, my dear,
Mom"
My heart dropped as I read that, a million thoughts rushed through my head.
Who is my mom? What is it that she did? Does my dad know about this letter?
I don't even know how to approach something like this, I don't know what to do.
There was a knock at the door, snapping me out of my thoughts.
