I jumped at the voice and snapped my neck to look at Faith in the doorway. "Jesus Christ, Faith..." My heart was racing. "You scared the absolute shit outta me!" Quickly, I placed the acoustic guitar on the bed in a feeble attempt at hiding it. "Um— I didn't think you would be back this early." I stated, trying my best to avoid the gaze of her beautiful ocean blue eyes.
"I didn't think I'd be home this early either, but Burke wasn't causing any trouble. A lot of Bliss has went to his head." Faith giggled.
I smiled a genuine smile as I glanced at the guitar behind me. "You play?"
"God no. I tried, but it was way too hard." She chuckled. "You're amazing at it though. You wanna play for me?"
"I-I don't know... I wouldn't say I'm amazing." I laughed nervously, while I rubbed the back of my neck.
"I want you to play and sing for me though." She pouted, crossing her arms over her chest and puckered out her bottom lip. "Please, Alice. For meeeeee."
"Only for you, Faith. Only for you." I smirked as I reached around and snatched the guitar, placing my right arm and neck inside its plain black strap. "What song do you want me to play?"
"Hmm." Faith thought for a moment. "I dunno. Just play something for meeee."
"Okay, okay." I tittered before I began tuning the guitar; I had the perfect song in mind... Clearing my throat, I started strumming the acoustic. ""Baby, I don't feel so good", six words you never understood.
"I'll never let you go", five words you'll never say.
I laugh along like nothing's wrong, four days has never felt so long.
If three's a crowd and two was us, one slipped away."Faith raised her eyebrows at the lyrics, but continued to listen.
"I just wanna make you feel okay,
but all you do is look the other way." I sung as I strummed the six string, not looking Faith in the eye.
"I can't tell you how much I wish I didn't wanna stay.
I just kinda wish you were gay." I glanced up at Faith and she was smiling from ear to ear. "Is there a reason we're not through?
Is there a 12-step just for you?
Our conversation's all in blue.
11 "heys".
Ten fingers tearin' out my hair.
Nine times, you never made it there.
I ate alone at seven, you were six minutes away.
How am I supposed to make you feel okay,
when all you do is walk the other way?
I can't tell you how much I wish I didn't wanna stay.
I just kinda wish you were gay.
To spare my pride.
To give your lack of interest, an explanation.
Don't say I'm not your type,
just say that I'm not your preferred sexual orientation.
I'm so selfish,
but you make me feel helpless, yeah.
And I can't stand another day,
stand another day.
I just wanna make you feel okay,
but all you do is look the other way, hmm.
I can't tell you how much I wish I didn't wanna stay.
I just kinda wish you were gay.
I just kinda wish you were gay.
I just kinda wish you were gay.""C'mere." Faith uttered right before I looked up from the guitar; she was right in front of my face as she smashed her lips against mine. Immediately, her hands were in my hair, while my hands flew to her cheeks. She pulled away too soon and said, "And Alice... I do remember last night..." Suddenly, her soft lips were on mine again as sparks started flying everywhere...
