"It's time! It's time!" An unfamiliar voice shouted from behind me, causing me to quickly turn around and aim my gun at them. "The Collapse is near! The Collapse is coming!" One of Jacob's Chosen informed us with a huge group of Chosen and Judges behind him. "All the Whitetails have been terminated, sir. Just like you had ordered."

"Good." Jacob grunted, his grip on his assault rifle tightening.

"What? The Collapse?" I questioned incredulously, confusion coursing through me. "You can't be serious..."

Suddenly, a voice came through Jacob's radio, "Attention. Attention. This is the Emergency Broadcast System. Take shelter immediately. Take shelter immediately. This is not a drill. Repeat. This is not a drill."

We needed to get the fuck out of here.

"We need to get the fuck out of here! The goddamn Collapse is coming! Let's go!" Jacob yelled with authority as I sprinted to Faith and untied her wrists and ankles. "Come on!"

"Are you okay, Faith?" I asked, my hands on her cheeks and examining her protectively.

She nodded in response, "Yeah. I'm fine. We need to get to the bunker."

Then, I grabbed her bicep gently and helped her stand on her own two feet. "Can you walk?"

"Yes." Faith replied curtly.

Jacob unholstered his hunting knife and cut the ropes that bound John's feet and arms together.

"Joseph..." John whimpered, gazing down at the Father's dead body on the cold floor.

The eldest Seed brother gripped John's chin and forced his eyes away from their lifeless brother. "Focus on me, John."

The Baptist had tears in his eyes and nodded his head, trying to refrain from crying.

Faith glanced at Joseph's deceased body as silent tears cascaded down her cheeks.

Immediately, I hugged her passionately. "I'm sorry, sweetheart. I'm so sorry." Her forehead laid on my shoulder as her tears dripped on my jacket. In an instant, my hand went to her hair and softly massaged her scalp, trying to comfort her. I knew Joseph's death was and will take a toll on her. "He didn't die in vain, Faith." I added gently; my heart broke seeing her like this.

Faith's hands gripped tightly onto my jacket, as if clinging on for dear life. "It's all my fault."

"No, no, no, no. No. Don't blame yourself for this shit. Don't you even dare." I stated sternly as I pulled away from Faith. Then, I placed my hands on her shoulders, "Please don't do this to yourself. It's not your fault."

Faith's nose started to run so I wiped it with the sleeve of my jacket [gross and cute at the same time], but I didn't fucking care.

"We gotta goddamn go." Jacob asserted, all the while, picking the Father's limp corpse up bridal style in his arms and carried Joseph outside as we all followed him.

Then, the Chosen and their Judges hopped in their vehicles, while John climbed into the driver's seat of Eli's car. He started the car up and the engine roared to life. Jacob got in the passenger seat with the Father's lifeless body in his lap. Faith and I then made our way in the backseat.

"Floor it to Joseph's bunker." Jacob ordered as the Baptist put the car in drive.

"Yes." John then slammed his foot on the gas, causing the shitbox to lurch forward.

There was an enormous earthquake in the distance and literal fireballs were shooting down from the sky. John had to swerve the car numerous times to dodge the balls covered in fire. Trees were falling down and were burning up in flames. The sky resembled hell and the heavens glowed nothing red. There were abandoned vehicles and people that were on fire. I guess Joseph was right... Most of the Chosen's trucks were hit by fireballs and there was nothing we could do to save them, sadly. The Judges and Chosen that were behind us probably were dead...

After about five minutes of us almost dying and crashing into trees and nearly getting hit by fireballs falling from the sky, we made it to the Father's bunker, finally. After we hopped out of the car, we had to think fast; where were we going to put Joseph's dead body?

"We have to bury him." I stated matter-of-factly.

"I dunno." The eldest Seed sibling answered truthfully, Joseph still in his arms.

I spoke up. "We can bury him under this tree. John, get a shovel from inside the bunker, stat."

"On it." He replied swiftly before darting inside the bunker to retrieve a shovel.

About a minute later [and nearly getting pummeled by a few fireballs], John handed Jacob a shovel.

"Go inside, guys. I got this." The oldest Seed sibling stated gruffly. "Go!"

I nodded my head in response and helped Faith get inside the bunker with John following behind us... I hope Jacob is okay; Faith and John both couldn't bear to lose another brother...
