Chapter 10: Second dates are for midnight kisses

"Andy honestly she's amazing, beautiful, smart, sweet, amazing with Jamie, ugh she's amazing" Maya told her best friend as she continued to finish some paper work on her desk, she was assigned captain for the day because their actual captain was sick with the flue but would be back on Monday.

She was finally back at work and managed to find a good daycare centre to take care of Jamie.

"Well look at you, wait are you guys even dating?"
She asked not sure what her friend had with the brunette.

"I'm not completely sure myself to be honest, all I know is that I want to be in a relationship with her, like so much" she stated blushing whilst she spoke about the Italian.

"Well maybe talk to her about it, can't hurt to ask how she feels" Maya thought about what her friend had said and agreed with the idea.

"Yh I'll do that thanks Andy" Once the blonde finished with the paperwork, she decided to go to the closest shop near the station and grab the brunette a box of chocolates and some flowers. She arrived at the shop and made her way to the gift section to buy Carina a small box of chocolates, she wasn't sure what kind the brunette preferred because they hadn't known each other for that long, but she just guessed and went with a small box of lint. Afterwards the blonde made her way over to the flower section, picking out a bouquet of Lily's,

"perfect" she told herself before she made her way to the till to pay. Once she arrived home she saw her mother and Jamie sprawled out on the sofa watching television, she had gotten her mother to baby sit whilst she was at work because none of her team could look after him either due to them also having to work.

"Hey mom you can go now, Jack will be coming over soon, thank you" she told the woman before making her way into her bedroom grabbing the clothes she picked out for tonight's date.

"Ok sweetie well it was a pleasure" the older woman told her before making her way to the door and leaving.

"Ok buddy Carina's going to be over soon, uncle Jack's going to come and take care of you" she told the blonde boy before picking him up and pecking him on the cheek with a soft kiss.

"Carina" he said lighting up at hearing the brunettes name.

"yes buddy Carina, but she won't be staying for long" she told the boy before seeing him pout and look up at the blonde.

"Because baby I'm going to take her somewhere" she told him before placing him back down and going into her bedroom.

As soon as she went into her room and turned around she saw that the little boy had followed her, "buddy what's up" she asked wondering why he was so clingy tonight. "Cuddles" she heard him respond as he wrapped himself around the woman's leg, "oh alright but only for 5 minutes then I need to get ready" she told him picking the small boy up into her arms and taking him into the living room. After about 5 minutes of the two cuddling on the couch, Maya was about to get up when her phone pinged notifying her she had a message.

Jack 🤮

Jack🤮- Hey, I won't be able to come over to watch Jamie tonight. Sorry mom phoned she's ill again.
Maya- ugh it's ok Jack, send her my love.
Jack🤮- Will do sorry again thanks for understanding.

Maya huffed as she set her phone back down on the table in front of her and texted Carina.

Carina 💞🦋

Maya- Hey, i now have no one to watch Jamie, postpone our date for tonight?
Carina💞🦋- No Bella I'll come over.
Maya- Are you sure Jamie will be here...?
Carina💞🦋- Sì of course Jamie is such a cutie, and it's not like we're going to be doing anything.
Maya- That is true, but what about dinner? I wasn't able to make anything.
Carina💞🦋- I can order in Bambina don't worry it'll be perfect.
Maya- Ok well hurry up and get over here, there's something I wanted to talk about when you arrive.
Carina💞🦋- should I be worried?
Maya- No no it's nothing bad, I hope it's not anyway.
Carina💞🦋- Ok Bambina I'm on my way now, Ciao.
Maya- Bye!

The blonde set her phone down sighing wondering how Carina could be so calm in situations like that. "Alright buddy Carina's coming over" she stated smiling as the blonde haired boy as he lifted his head from her chest and gave her a big cheesy grin, "you happy about that?" She asked already knowing the answer. "Yes" he replied getting off of Maya and going into his room. About 20 minutes later Maya had freshened up and gotten Jamie into his Pyjamas all ready for the brunette to arrive. A knock came from the front door and Maya went straight away to open it, a certain someone following her, as she opened the door she was met with those beautiful brown eyes and Carina's heart melting smile. "Hi" she said leaning in to kiss the brunette on the cheek. "Ciao Bella" the Italian responded. "Someone's been very exited to see you", she told her moving away from the door to reveal Jamie standing there looking up smiling at the brunette, "you have now?" She asked picking the little boy up and giving him a soft kiss on his head, "mhm" he answered shaking his head whilst Carina carried him into the living room, placing him down on the couch. "How was your day Bella?" She heard the brunette ask her as she took her shoes and jacket off, neatly putting her shoes by the door and her jacket up on the rack.. "it was good, busy but good" she responded making her way closer to the older woman. "That's good" Carina responded interlocking their fingers together taking a step closer to the blonde. "Are you hungry? My treat" the blonde said smiling at the brunette. "I am starving actually" she heard her say, placing her hands on her stomach. "Well write down what you want and I'll order it" she told her, making her way over to the couch to sit with Jamie. "Sì ok" Carina responded.

I decided for them to have this date at home sir that Carina could grow her bond closer with Jamie and to get to know each other a little better.
