Chapter 32: The big proposal

Carina's POV:

Today was the day, it had been two weeks since she went shopping with Teddy and bought the ring she was going to use to ask her girlfriend to finally be hers, but in a different way this time. To be fully hers, the big question... Will you marry me. She had spoken to the girls Amelia and Teddy about the game plan, she had an amazing idea in store. "Ok spill" Amelia said sitting down next to both women in their spot on the couch. "Ok so I was thinking of taking her to her favourite park that she takes me and Jamie too on family walks, getting some roses and sprinkling a path of those up to the fountain, I have booked a photographer to take a picture of the moment and I just need you two to watch Jamie, I do want him their but I have something planned for him when I pop the question" she finished letting out a big breath. "Woah Carina that sounds absolutely amazing, who knew you were such a romantic" Teddy said clasping her hands together in excitement, "Sì a massive one when it come to Maya" she said smiling at the thought of the blonde. "Anyway I will have Andrea there to help me set up" she finished moving to stand up after her pager went off. "Wow ok so you need to go now obviously but come back later to talk more about what's happening with Jamie" the brunette said to the Italian as she rushed to tie her hair up, "Sì I will or if I don't see you I'll text you" she said making her way out of the attending lounge to scrub into an emergency surgery. After a long draining surgery Carina made her way back to the attending lounge. It was now 6:00pm and she wanted everything to be right on time. "Amelia your here" she said sighing in relief for the brunettes presence. "I sure am, rough surgery?" She asked sensing the brunette tense, "Sì but that's not one of my worries right now" she replied going to the fridge to grab herself a bottle of water. "So you do know where Jamies daycare is right?" She asked making sure the brunette knew where to go. "Yes I do" she nodded. "Ok so the park is called Lanesworth park, it's not that long from the nursery and I can send a picture if you want?" She asked whilst she took a seat on the couch. "No no I love that park me and link go their all the time" she replied shaking her head telling her it was fine. "Ahhh brilliant, ok well I'm off shift now so I need to go get this started" she said standing up to hug her friend before making her way to their apartment to get dressed and grab what she needs. "Ok everything will be ok Carina" she said sighing to herself whilst she stood in the mirror checking out her appearance. Once she was dressed and grabbed what she needed as she made her way down to the park, seeing Andrea already there. "Ahhh Carina hii" he said making his way over to his sister to give her a warm hug, "hello, did you bring everything?" She asked knowing she could trust her brother but just making sure. "Sì" he replied showing the brunette. After everything was set up and ready she saw the photographer make his way down the path filled with rose petals, looking at everything in awe, "hiii Carina I can't wait for this shoot" he said clearly exited, "ooo is this her" he asked making his way over to the Polaroid pictures that were hung up on a piece of thin wire above the fountain. "Sì me and my love" she replied. She knew she shouldn't be nervous but when she grabbed her phone out to wring her girlfriend to ask her to where something nice and meet her at the park, she couldn't help but feel slightly nervous as her heart rate sped up and her palms began to sweat. "Hi Bella" she said once the phone had answered, "hi baby oh god today has  been so bad" she said sighing heavily at the days events, "oh no Bambina what happened?" She asked worried she wasn't in the right mood today.
"I got yelled at by this pissed off victim" she said quietly not wanting her girlfriend to over react but failing, "what!?" She asked feeling furious, "some victim at the scene" she replied, "but baby I'm fine honestly" she said when the brunette got silent. "Ok if you say so Bella... I rang you to ask if you could meet me at your favourite park and wear something pretty" she said hoping she would be ok with going out after a long day. "Oooo date night?" She asked becoming exited. "Sì kind of meet me now?" She asked not wanting to wait any longer. "Yea ok let me just go home and get changed and I'll be there" she said before saying goodbye to the brunette and hanging up the phone. "Ok Maya is on her her way" she said smiling softly, "I just need to call Amelia and see where her and Jamie are" she said finding the brunettes name in a her contacts and ringing the number. "Hi Carina we're literally almost here" she said and before she knew it she saw her and Jamie walk down the path, "bambino hi" she said making her way over to the little boy, "mama" he said kissing the brunettes cheek softly "oh wow you look so handsome!" She said loving this little tuxedo on her son. "Ok could you and Andrea take him round the corner there's a little swing set and you'll have a perfect view of what's going on, oh and also this is for him" she said handing Andrea a piece of paper that read 'will you marry Mama?' On it she wanted Jamie to come out in his little tux and dip the paper into the water of the fountain. "I want him to be apart of this too, so Jamie when Mama calls you to come out could you dip this piece of paper in the water for me?" She asked worried he wouldn't want to, but she knew he was a good boy and quite smart for his age, he nodded before both adults made their way to their instructed positions "Of course ok little man let's go" Andrea said before taking Jamies hand and escorting him off to the little park around the corner with Amelia following close behind. "And you Franco could you just wait over here?" She asked pointing to a little bush that would cover his appearance so the blonde didn't see him. "Of course" he replied before making his way over to the bush as instructed. Carina stood there for a moment taking in the surroundings of her plan, knowing Maya would love it. "Carina?" She heard the familia voice call as she heard it getting closer and closer towards her. "Sì over here Bella" she said, right this is it she told herself taking a big deep breath.

Both POV:

"Woah this is gorgeous baby" the blonde gasped as she entered the path of the park, surely this was more than a date? She thought as she made her way towards the brunette placing a soft kiss to her cheek whispering in her ear, "what is this and your look gorgeous by the way?" She said Carina didn't respond just smirked at her attempt for an answer, but knew she meant the last comment. She just pulled the blonde to the fountain. "Ok I have something I want to ask you" she explained looking Maya in her gorgeous blue eyes, she could get lost in them forever. "Mhm?" The blonde asked nodding. "Ok Jamie come over her bubba" she said calling the little boy over, what Maya saw melted her heart, Jamie looked so cute and grownup in his little tuxedo. "Me dip it Mama?" He asked forgetting what he was supposed to do, the brunette nodded and watched as the ink on the paper came through as the water covered it. Maya's heart beat sped up and her whole body started to sweat. Carina was asking her to Marry her. She turned around to face Carina and saw the brunette knelt down, hand open with a gorgeous ring in the middle of her palms inside of a beautiful box. "Maya Bishop ever since the day I met you I always knew there was something about you, it was like I was a magnet and I just couldn't get enough drawn to you. I know this relationship has been pretty rushed and a bit quick but I am so happy, with Jamie being our little boy and the thought of making some of our own sounds ugh I can't even describe. I want to wake up to you every morning kiss your lips and snuggle into you, you make me happy Maya you complete me... so Maya Bishop will you do me the honour of being my wife..." she asked watching the tears pour down Maya's soft pale cheeks, "I- omg... yes of course come here!" the blonde practically shouted as she lifted her up and pulled her into a tight embrace kissing her passionately. She could feel the light from the flashes of the camera as soon as the brunette knelt down to ask her and knew she was having pictures taken of the two, but didn't care, she was exited to see them and couldn't wait for their wedding photos. The two women got lost in each other before they heard Jamie shout, "mama and mommy marry!" He said informing the town behind the bush that they had finished. "Congrats Maya" Andrea said hugging the blonde. "Ahhh omg congrats you guys" the brunette said pulling both of them into a hug. "Wow you two are a very beautiful couple" Franco said looking back at the photos. "Can we see them?" Maya asked getting a nod from the man and pulling Carina over with her. They both looked into the camera and saw the first picture, it was a picture of the brunette knelt down and the blonde had her hands over her mouth gasping at the ring in her hand. The second image had both Carina and Maya stood together kissing crying onto each other. "I love the suit Bella" Carina whispered finally noticing her fiancé outfit and admiring her in the clothing. "I could say the same to you, absolutely gorgeous" she replied pecking the Italian softly on the lips again. "Well will I be taking more at the wedding?" Franco asked, "Sì yes of course thank you" she said shaking the mans hand. "I love you so much... fiancé" Carina said resting her head into the crook of Maya's neck. "I love your more... fiancé"
