Both POV:

It was a Saturday, Maya was sat with Jamie reading a book, "Bud what does that word say?" She asked as he hesitated before pulling the book closer to his face, "can you not see that?" She asked confused as to why Jamie was struggling. "No it's blurry" he replied rubbing his eyes, "ok maybe that's enough for today" she said placing the book back into his bag. "Wait bud could you tell me what this says?" She asked as she held up a leaflet from the side to see if he could see the big title, "Preg-" he said before leaning in closer to read the rest "nancy" he read looking up at his mum to see if he got it right. "Nice buddy" she said smiling at the small boy before placing the leaflet back on the coffee table and making her way to her wife. "Hey Care?" She asked seeing if she was in the nursery "Sì" she replied. "I think we need to take Jamie to the opticians" she said as she sat down in the arm chair on the opposite side of the brunettes. "Hmmm why?" Carina asked wondering who needed their eyes checked, "I was just reading with Jamie and he struggled and he doesn't normally have any trouble" she explained wanting to know what the issue was. "Ahhh Sì ok" she replied nodding her head whilst she stood up to place Georgia back in her crib. "So I'm going to take him" she told her after a few minutes of silence, "Sì ok be back for dinner, it's already 3:00pm" she told the blonde not wanting them to be out in the cold weather for too long. "Alright" she responded leaning in to capture her wife's lips softly.

"Jamie buddy grab your shoes and coat we're going somewhere" she told her son grabbing her keys and putting her own shoes on waiting for Jamie to do the same, "Ooooo where are we going?" He asked becoming exited. "We're going to get those eyes checked out" she said seeing the frown appear on his face, "oh" he said looking down at his feet becoming nervous, "Jamie it'll be alright we just need to see what's going on" she soothed. "Ok" he nodded making his way over to where the blonde was so he could put his shoes and jacket on. Once they were both ready they made their way out, walking down to the main part of the city where all the shops were. They shortly arrived at the opticians both making their way up the receptionist, "hi I'd like my son to see someone" she said, "ok what would this be regarding?" She asked as she grabbed a pen and note pad to write down the issue, "well I was reading with him today and he said that his vision was blurry, I held something in front of him not too far away, and he couldn't quite get it without leaning forward" she explained. "Ahhh I see ok well if you take a seat Mr Smith will be with you shortly, take this and fill it out please" she said before handing Maya a clipboard and a pen so she could fill out the form she was given. "Thank you" she said before making her way over to the chairs in the waiting room. Once Maya had finished filling out the form she handed it in and continued to wait for Mr Smith.

"Jamie Bishop" she heard a voice call after about 20 minutes, "come on buddy" Maya said as she grabbed Jamie's hand and made her way to the big double doors where Mr Smith was stood waiting. "Hi there bud" the man said smiling kindly at the little boy, Maya sensed Jamie got a little shy, he normally does with new people, "he's a little shy" the blonde explained, "ahhhh I see well that's completely fine" he replied smiling back at the blonde before entering his office. "Ok Jamie if you could sit up on that bed there we can get started" he said turning the light off and setting up the machines, "right could you look through this and tell me what letters are on the board?" He asked, Jamie nodded and did what he was told. "Ok what do you see?" Mr Smith asked, "ummm E, F..." he said struggling to read the letters on the board, and started to get frustrated, "it's alright buddy" Maya said noticing he was struggling with the letters, "ok that's enough" the man said turning the light back on and writing a few things down. "Right... I am going to get Jamie to pick out some glasses... after about 3 months if things go good I will give you some contacts" he explained. "Ok so this won't affect him?" she asked knowing Jamie loved to read, "no no not at all" the man replied shaking his head, "ok well thank you, Jamie what do you say to the man?" She asked, "thank you sir" he replied before jumping off the bed to hold Maya's hand, "no problem little man have a good day" he said smiling at them both before they left the room.

"Alright pick" the blonde said as she showed Jamie all the possible choices for what he could get. "Ooooo" he said seeing a nice pair of glasses, "they're nice" Maya said smiling at the choice of design, they were green glasses with lady bugs covering them. "I want them" Jamie said picking them up and placing them on his head, "very nice" Maya said as she grabbed her phone out to send a photo to Carina.

They had chosen those glasses and paid at the till. "Mama look" Jamie said as he burst through the door running straight to his mom. "What is it bambino?" She asked laughing softly at his eagerness, "I got these" he said as he pulled out the glasses from the bag, placing them on his face. "Ahhh so adorable" she said clasping her hands together in awe of her son. When she thought he couldn't get any cuter here he was.
