Maya's POV:

It was about an hour since the fire and Maya had just finished getting checked out  for any severe injuries, she had her back examined and creamed, due to the burns on her back.

She couldn't help but stare at the brunette woman sat across from her in the ambulance.

She had also been injured, and had just finished being examined.

who was also getting examined.

She was talking to who assumed to be her brother, their facial features resembled each other's, but who knows?

Maybe they were just friends.

"Hey Bishop" she heard a familiar voice say from behind her

"oh hey jack" she said, smiling slightly, it wasn't a full smile.

"How's your back?" He asked, as he walked in front of the blonde before lifting her shirt from the back so only the burns on her back could be seen, not her front.

of it lifted walking in front of her and lifting the back of her shirt up so he could see the burns

"Woah Maya you really got burnt" he exclaimed, examining the swelling on her body.

"It's not that bad Gibson" she replied, not really wanting to make a big deal out of it, it was her decision to risk her life, so why should she be pitiful?

She made the right choice.

she saved a human life, and that was something worth the pain.

"Why'd you do that Maya? I know you wouldn't just do that for anyone" jack said, dropping the blondes shirt and looking Maya in the eyes.

"She's a civilian Jack, it's part of the job, I managed to save her isn't that enough?" We had no choice really, she had already been burnt pretty bad by protecting the pregnant woman. She was huddled over her jack! We didn't have enough masks, and it was crucial for the pregnant woman to be safe due to growing another person inside of her, so I gave her my jacket and mask, it's no big deal" Maya explained.

She stood from her position sat in the ambulance before grabbing the bottle of water she had been given because she was a tad dehydrated.

"Whatever you say Bishop" smirking to himself, before walking back to the rest of the team.

Maya sat there for a little while before realising she needed her jacket, as much as the brunette looked adorable in the attire, she knew she needed to head back to the station soon. She breathed in and prepared herself to talk to the woman. Why was she getting so nervous? She was normally great with women, smooth, not too cocky but just the right amount to win them over, but there was something about the brunette that made her slightly nervous.

As she started making her way towards the brunette, she noticed that the man that the Italian was talking to walked off, which left her alone. she took one more deep breath, and made her way over to the woman. "Hey, you know I need that back" she said, smiling whilst she pointed to the jacket on the woman's body. "Oh right aha I'm sorry" she spoke, blushing slightly as she removed the jacket from her skin.

As Maya looked at the brunettes arms, she realised that she had removed her scrub top and was only wearing a vest, which revealed a lot of skin to the blonde, but she couldn't help but get interrupted by the burns that covered the brunettes skin. "Do they hurt?" She spoke, as she got closer to the woman pushing her shoulder slightly so she could get a better view of her back. "A little bit, itchy more than anything though" she replied, smiling at the concerned firefighter.

"Thank you" she heard the woman say, as she tore her eyes from the burnt skin and back to the brunette. "What for?" She asked, smiling at her knowing exactly why she was thankful. "For saving me, I know it's your job but giving me your jacket... I'm very thankful for that." Maya looked at the woman for a moment before speaking "well you're welcome, just doing my job" she smiled, before grabbing her jacket and putting it on herself, she winced slightly as the jacket came in contact with the sensitive burns on her back. "Do yours hurt?" The woman asked clearly concerned "no no I'm fine, I've been through much worse" she replied, after softly pulling the rest of the jacket on herself. "I better be going, but ummm it was nice meeting you..." she started, before pausing, not knowing what the brunettes name was. "Carina DeLuca" she answered, in her beautiful Italian accent, holding her hand out so the blonde could shake it. "You probably already know My name" she said, as she took hold of her hand and softly shook it "ahhh well yes I do... Maya Bishop" she spoke, in a soft voice smiling as she did so. The way her name rolled off of the brunettes tongue was music to her ears. "Ok well I've got to get going, but it was nice meeting you Carina" she said, as she smiled one last time before turning away and making her way over to the fire truck, and hopping on the back. "You ready Bishop?" Andy asked, as she waited for a response "yup ready to go" she responded, before Andy tapped the side of the truck signalling to Hughes that he could start driving. She looked out of the back of the fire truck, watching the brunette get smaller and smaller as they made their way back to the station.

Carina's POV:

As Carina got examined a while after the fire, she was sat talking to her brother Andrea, he wasn't very happy that Carina risked her own life for Emily, but what other choice did she have in that situation? She found out that the husband got arrested and is now being sent to court, she was relieved. As Carina sat there she started to let her eyes wander, and soon saw the beautiful fire woman that risked her life for her.

As she was looking at the blonde, she soon got interrupted by the guy from earlier... Jack was it? Coming back over to Maya. She saw him lift up her shirt, and as he did so Carina also saw the burns that covered the blondes back, but also had a good view of her front, which revealed her amazing 4 pack with her beautiful creamy skin. "Carina are you listening to me?" She heard Andrea ask her, as she stopped staring at the blonde and turned back to her brother.
"Sí sorry Andrea" she answered. "Ok well I've got to  head back in, are you alright out here by yourself?" He asked, as he looked at the brunette making sure she was ok "yes Andrea go, go I'll be fine" she told him, pushing on his shoulder slightly so he could get back to work.

Not long after he left, she saw that Maya was making her way over, with her head down and her hands in her pockets. She felt her stomach tighten slightly as she approached. "Hey, you know I need that back" she heard, as she looked up to see the blonde standing in front of her smiling with her perfect smile and perfect teeth. "oh right aha sorry" Carina responded, blushing slightly as she slowly peeled off the jacket, not wanting to irritate her burns, but also relieved to give them some air. As she took her jacket off and handed it to the blonde, she couldn't help but feel her eyes rome the skin she had revealed to her. She got pulled out of her thoughts when Maya softly pushed her shoulder, forcing her to swivel slightly to the left so she could take a better look at her burns. "Do they hurt?" She asked "a little bit, it's itchy more than anything though" she replied, smiling at the concern on the woman's face. "Thank you" she said randomly, she just wanted to show that she was great full. "For what?" The blonde asked clearly teasing her "for saving me, I know it's your job but giving me your jacket... I'm very thankful for that." She finished smiling at the blonde "well you're welcome, just doing my job." She watched as Maya started to put the jacket back on, forgetting about her burns and wincing in slight pain "do yours hurt?" she asked feeling sorry for the blonde a little "no no I'm fine, I've been through much worse" Carina knew this was probably true, but couldn't help feel bad about the burns covering the woman's back. "I better be going, but ummmm it was nice meeting you..." the blonde said pausing, waiting for Carina to fill in the gap "Carina deluca" the brunette answered, leaning her hand up toward the blondes so she could shake it. "You probably already know my name" Maya said, as the brunette smiled and replied "ahhhh well yes I do... Maya Bishop" smiling at the way her name sounded coming from her lips. "Ok well I've got to get going, but it was nice meeting you Carina" and at that the blonde smiled and made her way back to the fire truck, grabbing the metal bar to help her as she pulled herself up and stood in the vehicle.

She watched as the truck made its way into the distance and couldn't help hoping she would see this woman again soon.
