LONG CHAPTER AHEAD!

Marahan kong ibinaba ang plate na dati pinapangarap ko lang mabuo para sa kaibigan ko. Napangiti ako nang makita ang mga taong nauunahan sa pagpasok sa restaurant ni Clark.

Finally... after years of planning, my sketch finally turned into reality.

And from a far, he gave me thumbs up and I just smiled widely in exchange. Katabi niya si Ava na malaki rin ang ngiti sa akin. Yakap-yakap niya ang beywang ni Clark kaya napangisi ako.

Funny how I said hurtful words to her back then, stating that didn't her advices were all useless because she didn't have any relationship yet... and here she is, happily contented with her two year relationship.

Kita ko ang biglang pagbusangot ng mukha niya nang makita ang nang-aasar kong mukha at animo'y nagsumbong pa sa nobyo. Clark just laughed at her before kissing her forehead.

"PDA," I laughed and slightly shook my head.

Napasulyap ako sa cellphone dahil naghihintay ako ng tawag ni Eli. May usapan kasi kaming magshoshopping kami ngayon dahil pagkatapos ng mahigit isang taon, nakatapos na ulit ako ng proyekto.

Actually, I gave this project to Ava last year but when she knew that I was going to have my break, ang sabi niya... handa naman siyang tulungan ako.

At first, I was hesitant but she and Fourth pushed me to pursue designing the main branch of Clark even though I was far away since we were both dreaming to work with each other back when we were still studying in New York.

Mula Mindanao, sinesend ko lang ang mga disenyo kay Ava at siya naman ang nagtratrabaho nito sa Manila. It was a collaborative project that I did as I enjoy my hiatus.

Si Kaizer din ang naging engineer nito bilang pabor kay Sir Louie na ama ni Clark. Come to think of it, the whole project was wholesome.

We would often have our Zoom meetings to ensure that everything is at the right place. And seeing the results of everything we did, I could say... I'm glad that I accepted it. It was beyond worth the hard work.

Eli had no text so I just already walked towards the couple in the entrance.

"Mahiya naman kayo sa mga single," I said irratatedly.

They both laughed. Inaasar pa nila 'kong mag-boyfriend na raw ulit ako at tumatanda na... but I didn't care. As of the moment, even though I must admit that I miss someone... so bad, I am just trying my best to not rush things.

After all, love isn't defined by age.

Hindi rin kasi naging madali ang pinadaanan naming dalawa. Hindi ko rin sigurado kung may babalikan pa ba 'ko. Pero kahit ano pa man 'yon, tatanggapin ko na.

This time, I'll do whatever it takes to deserve what I deserve.

Nakangiti kong binati ang mga naunang costumers. Ang iba pa sa kanila, mga kilala ring investors. They congratulated me with a big smile on their face.

"You proved the industry wrong about you, Ms. Lyr," Sir Louie hugged me tight.

Tatango-tango akong ngumiti at niyakap siya pabalik.

Along way of having my break, I also encountered various comments about me being a daughter of a murderer. Many companies took back their offers too but with Ava, Fourth, Clark, Lala, Kaizer, Sir Louie, and Eli behind my back, I became tough to face all of those.

Their words couldn't define me, either way their judgement just reflected on how people could easily assume things without knowing the whole story behind it.
