Cassandra. Four years after.

Just In: Architect Levister's finally back!

Napatigil ako sa pagnguya nang marinig ang balita mula sa TV. Napabuntong-hininga nalang ako. Can't I have my breakfast without all of these articles about me? I continued eating and didn't mind the maids who were talking about me.

Nasa TV na naman daw kasi ang pangalan ko. Hindi pa man ako natatapos sa pagkain, nakangiting Tita Stella na agad ang bumungad sa 'kin. Mas nawalan tuloy ako ng gana.

"You're all over the internet, Iha!" she kissed my cheek before sitting beside me. I sighed and just gave her a nod.

"I heard it, Tita."

"Your big break in New York made your name known. Keep it up, anak," ani Daddy na nakangiti pa sa gawi ko.

I forced a smile. "I guess, my hardships were all worth it, Dad."

"But I don't want you to stop there," he sat in front of me as his eyes darkened. "You still have a long journey ahead."

Hindi pa rin pala sapat. Mapait nalang akong napangiti. If Eli didn't approached our direction, kanina ko pa sila iniwan dito. She kissed my cheek and greeted me good morning. I smiled back.

"Good morning, Baby..." I greeted.

"Ate, you know my school mates are always asking about you. You're a bit known in my school too!" her eyes said it all. Eli really looks up to me. She's very much idolizing each step or decision that I make.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yes! They're making friends with me nga e', but they're doing it because you're my ate... not because of me," she pouted. I just gave her an assuring smile before even placing some few fruits on her plate.

"Don't be too friendly, Eli," I warned her. "Plastics are all over the place."

"Plastics po?" she innocently asked so Dad and Tita Stella laughed.

"Your Ate is referring to those people who don't really wanna be friends with you anak," Dad explained. "They are just attracted with the idea of you being heir, pero bukod do'n ay wala na silang ibang gusto sayo."

"Oh..." she nodded. "That's alright, Dad! I only have two friends from your charity... They also don't know that I'm your daughter so for sure gusto talaga nila 'kong maging kaibigan!"

Dad sighed, "Finish eating your breakfast. You might be late."

That's how our breakfast went. Puro kwentuhan at paalala lang. My relationship with my Dad has somehow changed for the past four years. But I never confronted him about the past scenario I witnessed.

Gusto ko na rin sanang bumukod nang umuwi ako rito sa Pinas but he told me that he wants me with him. At wala akong nagawa kundi ang sumunod.

It was hard facing New York all alone. I didn't know anything. Nang makatungtong ako sa lugar na 'yon, I didn't know anyone. I pursued architecture in a city wherein the environment is unusual.

The city was liberated too. Some people are way too expressive in wearing their desired clothes. And that's normal for them. Siguro kung meron man akong hinangaan sa lugar na 'yon, that's how freedom reached its capacity.

Dito kasi sa Pinas, pag nagsuot ka ng masyadong magara o 'di kaya'y showy na damit, marami na agad silang sasabihin sayo. How toxic, right?

I sighed again. After taking a bath, I saw my phone vibrated from the vanity dresser. It was Clark. He's requesting a face time so I immediately pressed the answer button.
