Y/N sat by herself thinking, looking at the ground below her feet that dangled off the edge. She always felt so big watching people pass by miles below her. But to this moment she had never felt smaller. Fact one, Tony Stark was her father. She could definitely live with that, he had always felt like a dad to her anyway. Fact two, she wasn't human. Not entirely anyway. Fact three, she had no idea who her real mother was even though that could have been valuable information to find out about her ability.
She groaned out as loud as she could, letting herself fall backwards on the roof. "Found you." A voice sounded behind her. She knew exactly who it belonged to. She sat back up and he made his way to sit next to her, his metal suit quite loud as he walked.
She sighed "Can you at least take off the mask if you want to talk."
A chuckle sounded from the suit. "No can do sparkle. I sent all of my suits to go find you so I'm not exactly in this one." the harness opened to show nothing there at all. She nodded in understanding. "Come home. We'll talk there, you must be cold." she shivered and goosebumps formed all over her body. She hadn't really payed mind to how cold it was and she was only wearing jeans and a light sweater. "Get in, it's warmer in the suit." she did as she was told and the suit flew her back to the workshop where Tony sat. His features held a feeling of both dread and relief, he just wished he could have told her himself instead of her finding out trough his fit of frustration. The suit opened letting her fall out and straight into his arms. "I am so sorry, sparkle." he promised to tell her everything if she was ready for it, though there wasn't much he could tell her that she didn't already know in some extent. He was still just as clueless as she was."This doesn't change anything, alright?" he lifted up her chin that had been hanging low this entire time "We'll figure it out together. And you have the Avengers that have your back. And of course we can't forget about Shuri. She has access to tech we haven't even dreamed of creating. You're strong, we'll figure it out." Y/N nodded, a tear running down her cheek, she didn't even know what emotion had caused it. She was feeling so much. She pulled him into another hug "Thanks, dad." she sighed
They stood there for a moment, Y/N warming herself in her father's arms. He rubbed her arms and back until her skin once again felt fine to the touch, and they pulled away. "Go take a nice bath and get to bed. You have a busy day tomorrow."
He was referring to her meeting with Shuri. She wondered if she should tell her about the recent events, but decided against it. She would probably tell her someday, but for now it wasn't really valuable information. "Did you get my package?" Shuri asked with a grin.
"Yeah, I am surprised I did. I am guessing you didn't send it by mail." She laughed. They both knew that it's an extremely valuable resource, if it were to fall into the wrong hands, who knows what could happen. An evil robot could use it to destroy humanity or something.
The two of them got to work on their mutual project. Starting out with detailing their concepts, putting their heads together as two teens about to develop new advanced tech others had tried to realise before them. A knock was heard from the door after a few hours went by. Her head whipped up to look at Tony. "How's it going in here?" He asked.
"As good as you'd think developing nano-tech would go for two 16 year old geniuses." she said. "We already have a concept for the first prototype."
Shuri's chuckle was heard from the big screen. "Thank you for introducing us Tony. We make a great team. At this rate we'll be taking over the world." Shuri joked. They got along well, that was true. But Y/N still had a lot to learn from Shuri to catch up to her level. Though she was lucky they had similar minds, merely not the same knowledge and resources."You going to school today?" Tony asked after some conversation.
"Yeah, I will be right there." She smiled before turning back to the screens.
"I have some work to do myself, but I will let you know when I start messing with our prototype. see ya, okay?" Shuri ended the call and Y/N cleaned up the mess she had made in the workshop before making her way upstairs just in time to grab a small breakfast and go.
"Hey, Y/N. Wait a minute." She propper her bag on her shoulder, toast in her mouth, but she waited for him to speak.
"Natasha asked me if you could train with spiderman, and I've thought about it."
"Spiderman? That's who she had in mind for training?" It did make sense to her now she knew.
"I mean if you don't want to then ..." Tony started but she quickly cut in. "No, no. What are your conditions?" He smirked knowing all she wanted to do was train and get to learn her powers better.
"I'm making you a suit. You'll wear it during training and will not use your powers. And no telling him who you are, he is technically not an Avenger yet so the less he knows the better. Deal?"
"Deal." She said, finaly making her way out the door.
She got to school just in time that morning. Rushing to her locker for her book and immediately to class right before the bell rung. She truly despised being late but she also really just wanted to work on her prototype.
After listening for a while to what to teacher had to say, she started to zone out. Daydreaming about technology, can you imagine?
She pushed the class to the back of her mind and started drawing out and calculating what they were prototyping. Starting with remodeling her old prototype. Sometimes it helps getting away from your notes and do it again off the top of your head, create a new angle. She got so lost in her work that she didn't realise the teacher had ended the class a few minutes early.
"What's this all about?" Peter watched her scribble away on her notepad. Her usually neat handwriting had turned unrefined and sloppy in this situation. As she realised his gaze she slightly pushed it away from his eyes, laying her arm on top casually as she turned to him. Yet she couldn't really hide it.
"Nothing special, just doodling some stuff." She smiled innocently, hoping he would just let it be. But this was Peter Parker she was talking to. Possibly the only person in the class who knew better.
"It looks like a whole lot more than doodling. You building a watch? That's pretty cool. If you want I could give you some pointers." He smiled back at her, trying to get another glance.
"Right, stark industries' intern. I'm good, I already have someone helping me."
"Ah, yes, of course. Nevermind. I mean you know where to find me." He shrugged. Both their gazes traveled away from each others faces. Now having created an awkward silence. Her gaze fell to his arm, a small piece of bandage sticking out from under his sleeve. "Hey, you okay?"
"Oh yeah, this?" he lifted his arm "Burned myself with oil trying to help my aunt cook. I guess I'm just as bad as she is at cooking." He joked. She let out a short laugh. "That's not very nice! I bet her cooking is actually pretty good."
The bell rang before he could answer, and they smiled at each other before starting to pack. He gazed at her sketch one last time, before it disappeared in her bag.
