Happy pulled up in front of Y/N's new school, MSST. A school where she would learn everything about science that she already knew. "Thank you for driving me Happy! You really didn't have to." She smiled at him in the rear-view mirror. "You're welcome. You're going to have to get used to it. You don't think your uncle is going to allow anything else, do you?" He smiled back, making her chuckle. She pushed open the carport, glad he didn't decide to come open it for her and embarrass her as he has done before. "Have a nice day!" he called after her before she left him with a wave.
Y/N went straight to the main desk to get her schedule and lockercode. Honestly, she didn't get why they didn't just send it through e-mail. She could hear whispers and felt stares were pointed her way as she waited (im)patiently.
"There she is. She must be the one they have been preparing for."
"I heard she's related to the mayor."
"Really? Someone told me she's the daughter of a millionaire?"
"I heard she's royalty from Europe."
She chuckled at the last one. At least one of them was close. She honestly just wanted to go through school just like everyone else. But unless her nanny or happy got to arrange things, the schools always blew the whole deal up. The woman returned with the papers she needed and sent her off to get settled in her locker. She was used to being the new girl in school. She had moved schools a few times for numerous reasons and didn't really mind it. She closed her locker to come face to face with a way too happy face for this time of day, and she counted herself a morning person. "Hi, my name is Liz. I heard you were new so I thought I'd say hi." Liz smiled. "It's nice to meet you Liz, I'm Y/N."
She didn't really pay her much mind as she walked towards her first class, Liz hot on her heel.
"So, I've heard you're kind of a big deal. Which one is it? Royalty? Millionaire? Special Agent?" Liz obviously only cared about the rumours that had been going around and Y/N rolled her eyes at the predictability. "It's definitely the last one." She nodded; Liz paused her step for a moment until she arrived at her classroom as soon as the bell rang. "You have maths right now? I guess we're not in the same class, huh. I'll come back here to show you to your next class if you want me to?" She sounded disgustingly excited. "I'll find my way, don't worry about me." Y/N smiled, thanking her for the offer. Liz might not be her favourite kind of person, but she was the only one she had met. So, she'd be nice and see where it leads. She waved goodbye, sure they would see each other around, and took a seat. The class started to pile full, some students decided to greet the new girl, some ignored her entirely, until the teacher arrived a few minutes later.
"Good morning class. You all know the big test is coming up so I have decided to give you one more assignment on what we've learned this semester, so you can get some practice. Which reminds me, we have a new student, Y/N Carbonell." He pointed, making her wave awkwardly unsure of what else to do.
"Dude, she's cute." Ned whispered to his best friend, who nodded in agreement still trying to focus on the teacher. "Do you think I'd have a chance?" Ned wondered out loud. "Dude, no way. She's way out of your league." Peter chuckled, right then he heard his name being called. By the teacher none the less.
"Peter! You'll be helping her with this assignment." The man stated as he started to hand out the stacks of paper. "Oh, that's really not necessary." Y/N started
"I'm sorry sir but I don't ..." As soon as Peter started to argue, a voice chimed in with an "I can do it!" that voice belonging to Ned."Peter. I won't take no for an answer. If she fails, you fail. Got it?" The teacher said pointing the bundle of homework at him as he stood in front of him. Peter took it with a "Yes sir." And left it at that.
After class ended, Peter walked up to her. "Hey, I'm Peter, Uhm." Y/N interrupted before he could continue "Yeah, I figured. Don't worry, I don't need your help, and I won't fail either." She stated with a smile that told him to just leave it be. "Uhm, okay then" his hand reached to the back of his head, not daring to look her in the eye. He must have sounded really mean for not wanting to help her. "Would you like to have lunch with us later?" Ned butted in from behind Peter. She thought about it for a moment before agreeing. They didn't seem like the type to start drama and that's exactly what she needed.
"Leave her alone, losers." Liz scoffed from the doorway, signalling for Y/N to follow. She chuckled, making her way out of the classroom. But not before turning back to them "See you at lunch losers." She joked softly with a wink as she disappeared to her next class.
A.N. I don't know why I am making Liz out this way but it's just what happened. 🤷🏻♀️
